Random facebook rant

Need something else, it's quite bad now...
One guy on it I have as a friend has pretty much EVERY app known to man-kind.
Scrolling with pagedown held takes about 30seconds.

And I always get invites from him....might remove heh :p

Though, when I go abroad studying next year i'd like a blog of some sort to update friends/family.. might make my own page. Wordpress seems good.

can't see why they couldn't of just left it for the uni students to use it to perv at girls in the same elctures but scared to chat to them. I have 150friends on it from uni, 80 of which are off my course that i see msot days, 40 people i lived with first year, a few conquests and mates of mates. It's actually a way of life for us. I could goto a computer cluster at uni and 75% of the screens have facebook on it.

I have Facebook/MySpace and Bebo but only use Facebook really atm! I just find it weird how people can be so against social networking but sit for hours on sites like this etc?! From people i know in real life who hate Facebook etc its either because they are ugly as hell or just 'old fashioned'! Its like i know people my age (20) who hate it and its like HELOOO this is sooo the 21st century you morons!

i've plenty of people who i used to know from school and what not, sure i dont really talk to them but i guess i'm a stalker who interested in what people are up to. Facestalk for sure

Theres a big difference to conversing over matters on this forum with people, and Throwing sheep at someone, Vampire bitting them, inviting them to Boozey club, group inviting them to the Lets all Save Me because Im amazing, Pirate group inviting them, adding them to My Faves and all the other pointless carp applications that ruined facebook.

I enjoyed facebook for about a week when I found a load of old school friends, then left when every time I logged in there was 40 invites to applications that are all identical just with slightly different themes.

got over 400 friends and during my life at one point I was good friends with them, like you I have a big group I see every other day but every 2 weeks or so I see my other mates and sometimes I bump into other groups when Im out. its nice to have old friends there cos if you lose your mobile you can just message them.

and msn :p I got sick to death of people messaging me "steve Im bored" well thank you for letting me know, now I know you have nothing good to say to me I am just not going to talk to you for the rest of the day. and I only ever use it to organise nights out etc :p

I use Bebo more than Facebook, because most of the people I went to school with (and hence would want to catch up with) use it. I've had a few friends requests from people I really didn't get on with at school, but I really don't see the point in accepting them because I have no interest in talking to them now.

I see social networking sites as a way to let people know how you are getting on with your life and occasionally a passing message to say hi or arrange to meet up. It's nice to be able to catch up with my cousins, who I never spoke to before they added me on facebook, and see photos of my family in England.

I signed up as soon as I started uni, to find out what all of my friends who didn't take gap years were on about :p Back when it was uni only.

I think it's brilliant. I used myspace for a while while travelling to keep in touch with a few people I met along the way, but they all use facebook now instead, and I haven't logged in to myspace for months. I mainly use it for photos and events, really, and keeping in touch with people who I met while away, or from college who I don't get to see any more.

I'm still not totally sure why people get so enraged by applications, it strikes me there's some exaggerating going on. Yes, I do find them annoying, and far preferred it before they were introduced. However, the spate of zombies/werewolves things stopped, and I get a random pointless one every few days now, really. Maybe my friends are just particularly sensitive to the fact that they're annoying, but I doubt that :p

As for social network sites being the root of all evil...well, each to their own, sure beats phoning 40 people to invite them for a party or night out for something, and the photo tagging system is simply excellent. I don't quite understand people who use 4 different sites and keep them all up to date, with the same friends on each one...but hey, who am I to judge.

Facebook used to be brilliant, and was the easiest way of knowing when events were on, keeping in contact with people and seeing pictures from recent nights out. I got in contact with loads of people thanks to Facebook, be it friends from my Primary school that I went to until year 1, through to people i'd spoken to once in lectures but hadn't had chance to get to know them since.

However now I check it probably once a month. Partly that is due to finishing uni, but my workplace has just as many people on it as my uni did. The main reason is those annoying apps. It's killed it for me, and now I just don't bother.

its not the apps that annoy me, its the stupid idiot users spreading them round like wild fire

"sean is sending you a ilove invitation - see how good a lover you are"
"phillipa is sending you a imusic invitation - play your fav music"
etc etc etc, and then you got dumb idiots posting forwards on your fun wall

"this is true it really happens now you've read this send it to 150,000,000 people or you will die!" etc etc etc and you get emailed saying you just got a post. I turned the email feature off.... AND I STILL GET EMAILED!!!!

Its just getting to the point that they are letting bad coding through and its really annoying.

I like Facebook mainly because of being able to see photos of a night out that I probably otherwise would not have seen.

I agree. That's the good, fun side of it. Acceptable stalking ;)

I hate the status updates that people do though. Like I care if someone's bored, tired or enjoying a midnight curry. I don't care. most of the people on my friends list are idiots anyway. :p But harmless idiots.

Why do you say that?

What a pointless comment to make. You should stay on topic.

BB x

I've started ignoring people I don't know...

Also current friends are deleted

At the moment I am considering continual invite to apps friends for the chop aswell...

Looks to pretty obvious to me why I said that, does it to you? Do you ignore people who send you spam mail too?
