Bill Bailey - Under rated comedic genius?

I dunno, I can still see it in some of his newer stuff, and it just bothers me. I like Part Troll and Bewilderness, and Black Books etc, but part of me always sees the crazy drug addict.

As the guy above just said, experimenting with drugs doesn't make him in addict...
Personally think Bill Bailey is hilarious however Christopher Morris is more of a comic genius ;)

Jimmy Carr is overrated if you ask me. His last stand up he just spent it telling rubbish one-liners.

Jimmy Carr - Comedian 2007? I thought it was fantastic one-liners, and the Agony Aunt was a great part of it. It really is a show for a people without a moral compass. :D

I love Bill Bailey.. He is my favourite comedian, hes got so much talent plus he comes from my neck of the woods. Can't wait till I finally get the chance to see him live! :)

... I'm sure he's from Bath- I take it your location is uni or similar?

I just can't stand the idea of BB donning a wig, moustache & insisting people calm down! :p

I love his shows as they seem to combine my sense of humour with another passion of mine - music. :)

He is funny but sometimes his shows just seem to lack pace, engagement and become a little repetitive now and then.

He does produce some excellent material though :D

Took DRZ to Tinsleworm last year, was utterly brilliant haven't laughed so much since his last dvd. Am an avid BB fan and i definitely wouldn't say he was underrated at all.

I don't think he's underrated really, as most people know how brilliant he is :)

One of the things I really like about him is his ability to be so damn funny without being at all crude or ripping it out of certain groups of people.

His show doesn't flow very well though.

The best bits are when he talks to the audience, then he just starts telling a load of one-liner jokes which gets a bit boring.

I'm only 20 but I'm getting sick of all the swearing comedians do now, it seems to be an instant laugh as he said a naughty word when really it's just pathetic.

I like Jimmy Carr but Bill Bailey is miles ahead.

Gotta agree with the comments made about Dylan Moran... he's extremely funny. The "Like Totally" show is great... and it's all on Youtube. Can't link to it cause of the swearies, but it's worth watching if you've got an hour to spare.

I also like Ed Byrne, which someone else mentioned, but I think I'd have to agree that Bill is more consistently funny than Ed.

Bill is das legend, the single funniest comedian around today, a brilliant mix of wierd, wonderful, plain trippy, mockery, truth nuggets, musical talent - everything

and he's even better live, I saw Tinselworm and will be going whenever he does another tour

What do you guys think of Ross Noble?
In some ways I think he is similar to Bill, he can be rather random at times.

I loved Ross on HIGNFY...from what I've seen of his standup I think he can be a bit too random at times, but I haven't seen enough to judge him properly from standup.
