Restaurant recommendations required - Leeds/Yorkshire area

In Leeds I will recommend the following
thai edge - nice thai food, fairly reasonable
num39 - nice oriental food and very good prices
shogun/wasabi teppanyaki - very nice japanese, chef cooks the food in front of you, it is better with a few more people though.

sadly calls grill has closed as that was my favourite place, their steaks were lush. I have never had a steak that was so crisp and charcoalled on the outside but rare in the middle.
Theres a italian near slug and lettuce that was alright.

Can't really give you advice on a fish restaurant as fish and chips is about all the fish I like.
I beleive an argentinian steak house has recently opened (where calls grill used to be) but I haven't been yet so I don't know what its like.
I'll be going to the raymond blancs place tomorrow night to try out so I'll let you know how it is if interested.

If your willing to travel to Bradford theres some nice places, one in particular in the centre called Mama mias.

Also in Bradford, around 4-5 miles up Thornton road theres a restaurant called Villa Roma which is extremely nice, i lvoe that plac,e off there again in a couple of weeks. Id deffinately reccommend it, its past morrisons, past the post depot, past Thornton Grammar not far after youll see one called the tyke next to a petrol station on the right, well its just on the left after there, as you come to the double round about junction. Thornton road is easilly enough found if you ask someone, its one of the largest roads in Bradford.

My 2 fac places in Bradford, the 2nd one is better.

One other is called The Goose, down in the centre opposite centinery square, apparantly they do some lovely food, you tend to get mostly adults in there, you get some quite old people through the week/lunch time, and couples on weekends evenings, really nice place.

Give them a check.

If thats the one under the railway then I think it changed its name to wasabi teppenyaki. It is nice food and good entertainment.

Ah. gotcha. Its just a few people have told me it is the best, so if it changed its name that'd be why :)

The Sunn Inn in Colton is good (York Colton not Leeds Colton)

Also the Bluebell in Alne is good too

Don't mean to **** on your bonfire but............ the sunn inn USED to be good , changed hands and it is pretty poor IMO.

Also meltons is good but don't go to MELTONSTOO (its sister restaurant ) just before xmas and it was very poor packet soup , asked for lager got a bitter I could go on but I think you get the picture. Meltons is good however just don't make the mistake I did ;)
