I've never seen anything orange in the AH and it's probably been 2+ years since I've looked at the manual.
 
Orange is classed as "Legendary"

search for thunderfury that has a sick graphic (that one though is pre TBC)

Illidan drops the twin blades of Azzinoth which are both Orange too

Can't wait to get to lvl 10 so I can get a pet...thinking of getting a bear! Hopefully get up to lvl 10 tonight then hammer it on the weekend
 
Mohawk has a legendary on his old rogue (Thunderfury) and I was pretty close to having one too, except that one of the items needed for it never dropped. Legendaries are unbelievably hard to acquire, you need to be in a top-end guild and pretty much be able to raid and kill anything. Even then, expect a several-month long wait. Or never. As in the Thunderfury case. Grrrr.

I did hear that Azzinoth legendaries are stupidly easy to acquire for their legendary status though, just simply keep killing Illidan instead of some convoluted questline that involves getting 100x of X item or such and such.
 
Azzinoth has about an 7-8% drop

As for Thunderfury that was insanly hard, a few people I knew had the drop from MC but never got the second part.

Was that 6-8months when you started raiding MC? or since you started the char to attaining the blade?

Grats though on getting the Legendary! Even today it is still highly regarded.
 
the only legendary ive ever seen is the Thunderfury sword... if im thinking of the right on...

its a one hander... that looks like you need 3 arms to carry it, with 2 blades each side and some random lightning thing at the hilt ??

looks sick though! i want one! ... never seen any others

There is the Sword you describe (that mohawk had) the Mace from the last boss in MC (although it is a long process to get the Mace, Rag just drops a nugget if I remember right then there is a chain of crap). The Twin Blades and there are other legendarys planned to be added to the game. I red before months ago some were going to be added for classes? I quit a few months back when I was really into this and haven't looked close into end game since then.

took me 6-8 months after i got the first drop from garr :P was after at least half a year of raiding :P
 
Who could forget the uber legendary, Sulfuras! Hand of Ragnaros, from one of the funnest fights in the game ever IMO.

Back during the Molten Core days pre-TBC, was so much excitement when we had all the legendary items drop.

I regret not seeing at the very least C'Thun, got so far as the Twin Emperors, saw about 1/3rd of Naxxramas (maybe less).

I'd like to see Zul'Aman since I haven't even seen it at all, and 10-man raids were such a huge success when TBC launched due to the ease of size organising it.

God, I miss Blackwing Lair too :(

Who could forget Shamans in there glory days before there nerfs with that Hammer?? My god I had never been so scared of a class in my life!
 
There's also the Atiesh, but the first person to acquire it got it just before TBC came out. Naxxramas as a whole, suffered from this problem. It's why Blizzard are having it redone as the first raid instance in Lich King.

Ah yeah I totally forgot about the staff, who can blame me :p

The Tier set from Naxx will remain too, the stats/colors will be slightly changed but the graphic will be the same which is great as it looks pretty awsome IMO
