My new car (pictures inside)

Nice! I really like the Mazda MPS lumps :)

I thought the Mazda MPS were AWD or some sort of complex 4WD? Which is probably why you don't get much torque steer.

looks great (although i would have ripped that horrible blue dealer sticker out on the fore court...)

the 6 MPS looks great too, and shifts somewhat from the sounds of things... bring on the 3 year depreciation!

out of interest what other "hot" cars have mazda (excluding the obvious sports cars such as the mx5, rx-series)

Too understated and clinical for me personally, however it's a great engine and with the aero pack I'm betting fun to drive too. I tested a std one and didn't feel right in it. I'd be interested to see how an aero pack'd one drives (chassis-wise), compared to my Megane.

If I was told I couldn't have a Meg, it would have been above the ST and VXR on my list.

There you go, a semi-positive comment :)

Sorry for the late reply - Thanks for all the positive comments - I wasnt expecting them to be honest!!

Anyone any suggestions for a few mods? I love it as standard, but was thinking maybe tinting the rear windows and perhaps making the alloys gunmetal grey?

Well, I did test drive it against a Focus ST -

The MPS feels a good bit faster and more responsive than the ST. I've driven a remapped ST, and it still doesnt really pin you back into the seat when you press the accelerator like it does in the MPS.

Build quality also feels better. Bose as standard is a big plus for me.

The sheer noise of the ST is better than the Mazda, I love the sound of the ST! However, I may look into other exhaust options for this and see if it can be improved - still sounds mighty enough though!

Not keen on the mirrors though, if I saw it driving past I would assume that the owner had stuck 'M3' mirrors on it. Apart from that it looks very nice. What engine is in it?

I quite like that. And 260bhp should be rapido!

What's the power to weight ratio of one of these, and are there any remaps available to increase the power further?

Its not a pretty car, but none of the Hot-hatches are right now, cracking engine tho, and the chassis is pretty damn good (is it based on the focus?).

My only gripe is that, the lsd is crap, you can really feel the cars computers working overtime trying to keep the power in check (this could be the tyres as the focus ST is same with Goodyears),this takes a lot away from the car imo, also the steering feel is a bit lacking, but the Golf GTI is the same in this respect.

I still dont htink you can look past the Golf GTI for the ultimate Hot Hatch, the ST and the CTR come bloody close, and for sheer VFM the megane 225 is fantastic.

Well, I think I MAY trade this for another hot hatch.

Thinking of going down the Civic FN2 line, Astra VXR or an R26 Megane...

Any thoughts?
