Hmmmm :)

Nope.

DC's car will break down in testing when it can be fixed 100s of times if need be with little or no penalty. Mark Webber, however, will break down in the race, when it counts most. If he is ever found leading a race by a big margin, that is when he is most likely to break down. His luck will dictate this.

So you see, my theory still holds true. :p

DC and Webber both had the same number of DNF's last year as I remember. 7 I think.

Some intresting facts about the new Singapore GP:

The system will feature a total of 1600 lighting projectors attached to aluminium trusses, which will be suspended 10 metres above the track on vertical steel pylons which will be mounted on prefabricated concrete blocks, placed behind the barriers at intervals of 32m. This will involve a total of 240 steel pylons and a mind boggling 108,423m of cables.

The system will be powered by 12 twin-power generators, each located in a sound-proof container. Should one of the generators fail, the other generators will provide a back-up power by default. Each generator will also have its own engineer on standby whenever they are in operation. The resulting light will be four times brighter than the lighting in a normal sports arena.

Also i like the new Red Bull driver suits... Remind me of Lemans for some reason.

Why can't we have a proper night race. with special nose cones just for that race which has to incorporate a standardised lighting system.

Then the can of worms would be open as to what is safe and what isn't. Also the amount of light a single "light" would throw out would be minimal, lights outside the chassis of the car would destroy aerodynamics and again be a safety hazard.

the fia can create a standard light package that can be incorporated into special aerodynamic parts for that race. I don't see how it would be dangrouse.

The FIA can do whatever they want lol.Do you have any idea how much work would be needed to setup a chassis with a aero package to suit added lights?

You're assuming the lights will be bulky and un-aerodynamic. There isn't anything taht says that would have to be the case. Nose cones would have to be slightly heavier/bigger to maintain strength with clear windows in them. But it could be possible to add lights without affecting the aerodynamics in any substantial way. Assuming they could be incorperated into the existing aerodynamics without affecting *** shape.

The lights could well be aerodynamic that's not a problem. The problem comes from the effect they have on the rest of the car. Ferrari,McLaren,Honda maybe would swallow the cost and maybe a couple of others but to be honest for 1 race i find it highly unlikely.

We struggle to get 4 cars for a standard race season together add a extra chassis, wing, floor package and it would be difficult to achieve. As for lights inside the nosecone they would not pass crash test regs as i said and i cant see the FIA saying "its ok for this race we dont mind the cars smashing to bits"

I can see where AcidHell is coming from. To me its not going to feel a night race for the drivers anyway with all the lighting thats going to be used.

Only the crowd may experience the night race as the stands would'nt be as bright as the track. For the drivers, its going to be normal for them.

Btw, are there details on the Valencia track released yet? Would like to see how it compares to the legendary Monaco circuit.

Nice one, you definatly have a great job :D

Is it an actual street circuit thats used as normal roads and closed for the weekend or is it a purpose built 'street' circuit?
