Devil May Cry 4

There's always ways and means around stuff. Data duplication +install is the easiest one I'd guess. As I said before the PS3 was released, Blu-Ray isn't a real benefit, it most certainly will be in the next-gen though where I expect the consoles to come with HDD's in the 100's of GB's and BR drives atleast 4x in speed.

A fantastic format that's flawed by the reading speed.

I don't think blu-ray will be a real benefit next gen either, because DLC will be more popular, I guess your always going to have panzies who like having boxes and disks, but I think things will shift to DLC, especially when we have like 100mbit connections in our homes etc.

I wouldn't be too sure. I'd expect disc based media next-gen.

Oh yeah, I think there will always be disc based media in one form or another because people still like having a box to hold and a physical copy of something, and its always nice in the event of something happening to your HDD. However I do think we will see more of a focus to downloadable games next gen, it is already at the first step this gen with things like Warhawk, Tekken and Gran Turismo 5p on PSN. Do they have full games on the Live Marketplace (not arcade stuff)? I'm sure they do by now...

Full xbox 1 games for download already with more coming. They just added Burnout 3 this week. Yeah I know it's old stuff :p

Then there's the arcade games of course.

I'm hoping im not going to far off-topic and will admit i've only scanned through the thread so far but do loads times really both people that much? The difference between 6 and 19 seconds sounds quite a lot and I assume it could be annoying and spoil the flow of the game at times but it's hardly as if its taking several minutes.

Also has it been confirmed what comes in the UK CE version as i love DMC, wish I still had my lil Dante figure :(

Load times are always annoying. But in all honesty after you start playing the 360 version for maybe 10 minutes you will get used to it. (I am assuming load times will be consistentish between entering new sections) so after a while it will be normal.

As most people will only buy it on one format (and probably only own one of the 2 consoles) it's not a deal breaker by any means. If you have both consoles then it is the deal breaker imo (As far as I know there is no other specific visual/performance differences between the versions).

For me it means I will get the ps3 version (I own both consoles) for most people they won't have that choice anyway.

Edit: Looking around on the big online stores for UK games the 360 version seems much cheaper (360 LE is cheaper than standard ps3 version in some places!!) May have to do some more digging....

cool, I was just interested in peoples opinion of it as I am lucky enough to have use of both consoles so wondered if considering the real lack of GFX difference between the two if load times would play such an important role in choosing which version to pick up.

With regard to load times, it's a shame they can't do as with Uncharted, which as you played through, had no load times at all.

I was quite stunned at that, and didn't even notice at first.
I just kept playing through, and wasn't until somebody in these forums asked what the load times were like, that I realised there wasn't any.

I thought that was brilliant, and I hope more games can manage that in the future.

V1N.

Which one will you be getting?

The UK special edition is a tin case, art book, extra dvd (I think). USA one is same but they get a non tin case and a chance to have a signed copy (I think).

Just to touch on the price issues I just noticed (I normally only place an online order a week or so early so only just found out).

Online Store A (add £1 delivery):
360 SE £29.99
360 LE £32.99
PS3 SE £39.99
PS3 LE £44.99

Online Store B (free delivery):
360 SE £32.99
360 LE £34.99
PS3 SE £39.99
PS3 LE £44.99

Online Store C (free delivery):
360 SE £29.99
360 LE £29.99
PS3 SE £37.99
PS3 LE £38.99

Weirdly on import you can get both versions for £30 standard and £40 limited editions.

The money is not really an issue for me (If I didn't want this on released day or earlier would just import ps3 version for £30).

Weird pricing though....

Well...

As the load times don't really bother me and I got annoyed waiting for the GT5 Prologue Demo to install (yes i know i'm impatient), coupled with the fact I prefer the 360 Controller (PS3 triggers just feel too weird and I have never like the Analog Stick positioning) I will most likely be picking up the 360 LE edition (Most likely trade a few games laying around). :)

I'll be going the PS3 route.

DMC on anything other than a Playstation just wont feel 'right'. :p

Funnily enough that is one of the things I'm worried about for the 360 version. I really do prefer the 360 controller but I never had any issues with the old DMC games and you were able to make some of the combo's flow so easily I just hope you can on the 360 (I guess if it ain't broke don't fix it).

Looks like the demo for this game is coming out on the 31 January for both the PS3 and the 360. According to the DMC4 English site when you click on widgits it mentions it on one of the screens, http://www.betrayerbetrayed.com/
Shame its not earlier though.

Bit of a con really, as everything I have read implies the demo is ready to be distributed (I think). I am always wary of games where they deliberately hold back a demo till after retail release. Having said that I am sure that this is one of those games with a following that will sell anyway, but disappointing, nonetheless.

I thought retail release was Feb 8th?

Odd that the PS3 versions are consistently more expensive.

Depends where you get it from, it's actually cheaper to import from the US or Canada than it is to buy here.

But annoying for those who don't want to import, I don't understand why a PS3 game is more expensive than a 360 game in this country.
