Devil May Cry 4

Never played the first three but looking forward to this. Might get the PS3 version due to the loading times if it makes much of a difference.

If you have the 60gb ps3 (or a ps2), it would be criminal if you don't at least pick up a cheap copy of the 1st game before the 4th is released. Was the best in the trilogy released too date, although a bit on the easy side from memory...

Definitely I used to love kicking up the difficulty and slaughtering armies of bad guys :D

Did you find the second one felt like you'd never put the 1st one down? I did. It was wierd, It just felt like I was still play DMC1, Which is possibly a good thing.

DMC 3 I've not played properly.

Yeah, I liked the 2nd one, it just felt like an extension of the 1st one (although I found that too easy as well!!). I have the third one here, and I have only really played it for about 20 mins. Now the DS3 works on it for full rumble, I am gonna try to dedicate some time to completing it before DMC4 comes out (Although from what I read, this is the opposite, too hard!!!).

Some foreign sites have received review copies so the game is final now.

Bad/Good news is that the 5Gb install is mandatory on ps3. (weirdly enough no-one has timed the install as surely that will be a bone of contention for some!!).

Good in the sense that out of the box (assuming graphics are the same), you will get a better experience on the ps3 (again, assuming rumours of no load times on ps3 with 5gb install are tue).

Bad in the sense 5GB is a lot for a single game. (I have 22Gb out of 55Gb free so don;t really care).

Sixaxis support sounds a bit tacked on, and this achievement thing doesn't do it for me anymore anyway.

There would have to be some major difference in the 360 version to convince me to gte that over the ps3 version in light of the above I think. Now it is just a case of

1) Import and save money and have a few days after release.
2) Pay a bit more in UK and have game early, but have loads of other games to play so won't play straight away anyway!!

Strange thing is the 360 version is £5-10 cheaper online for the CE, anyway the install is supposed to be about 21 minutes, but during this it shows the whole DMC story so far. Some places have said the 360 textures are slightly and i mean very slightly better , but it suffers from screen tearing. In the end i dont think graphics wise there is going to be any real difference unless your some sad fanboy with a screen capture and zooming in to see the differences.
Famitsu posted some PS3 only things about DMC4 like PSN features like leaderboards, being able to check were you friends are in the game stats accomplishments etc. Im pretty sure they'll also be on the 360 when its released as live is such a big part of the Xbox community and probably easier to implement.

I must have sucked at it then because I remember it being eye-poppingly hard! Memories of it are vague but I remember there being one boss (big black guy?) you fought in a huge courtyard with a tall wall at one end. He nearly sent me to an early grave. I must have literally spent 8 hours trying to kill the guy.

I can borrow the missus' copy and play it on the PS2 or import a US PS2 copy for my PS3. Got so much to play though.

well have never played any of the DMC series as have never owned a playstation but this certainly looks like an interesting game.

I have seen some of the 360 trailers for this and thought this looks like a cracking game. I would imagine like burnout paradise this has been primarily developed on the PS3 so it may look a little bit better but given that I don't own a PS3 I will have to get this on the 360.

Certainly will be a nice change to all the FPS's and driving games that I usually play. This certainly did remind me of Ninety Nine Nights which I must get round to finishing at some stage.

I honestly doubt there will be any noticeable difference between the two mate, I seriously doubt the average gamer would be able to spot the possible 1 or 2 fps difference, its really nothing to be worried about.

I will be interested to see how the achievements are handled on the PS3 version and also how you can compare yourself against other users. I take it that this is a first on the PS3? or have I just been missing out?

Uncharted hinted at it, but this seems to do it properly. All seems to be handled in-game, though I suspect/hope Home will centralise it all.

are achievements not going to be linked with Home then? Btw when is that meant to be coming out??? I've got an advert in my resistance game, which is over a year old, saying "look out for Home on the PSN"...

Yeah I got a popup boxes saying I have done so many headshots etc but couldnt see how to get to a screen with a list of other achievments.

I thought home was meant to be out last year around autumn time, doubt we will see it anytime soon

Gonna be this year, but Christ knows when. I'm hoping it'll drag the PSN into Live territory.

I hope this game doesn't have Ninja Gaiden level difficulty. I don't want another game that's gonna drive me insane

The reviews sound good and i didn't realise it was so close to release. I have DMC3 preordered since it's out of stock where I'm buying it from... hope I canplay it before I get DMC4.

I wonder if this'll have rewards for achievments like Unchartered. Which reminds me I still need to complete that game :)
