What's the chances this will kill the dog?

My mates dog did something like this once, ate a bag of pills he dropped on the floor, we fed him a load of grass and he puked the bag back up, then started trying to eat his own vomit.

Do you have small children in your house? If a dog could get at a packet of painkillers, then a small child could have an equal chance.

Was the packet just left out on the side, or on a coffee table or something? Our painkillers and such have always been stored in a high cupboard that you have to reach over the table to get at, not something I, as a toddler/young child, could do (lived here 15 years, I'm 19).

Apply more common sense to drugs in your house.

edit: good to hear the dog's fine, I wuv mine :p

WHY DONT PEOPLE READ THREADS BEFORE POSTING RANDOM TESTICLES (cant use the B word)

The Anadin weren't just lying around...they were under my sisters car seat where it got to them.

No this isn't animal cruelty before anyone starts.

Just been told that my sisters dog could die as it's eaten a packet of Anadin Extras.

Now, what are the chances of this killing the dog? it's a Cavalier King Charles, just over a year old and upto this day has been perfectly healthy and is all jabbed up etc.

And I've already said "well at least it won't die without a headache" :p - so no wise cracks :p

Cheers!

Don't be an idiot, take it down the vet's immediate. It's a freaking blood thinner for Christ's sake.

edit: read the thread now. I still think you're stupid for asking in the first place :p 'hmmm I wonder if this bunch of anadin extras will kill my dog' lol you crack me up !

My friends dog ate a half an ounce of weed once, it lived but it was seriously monged out on his bed for about 5 hours. Silly bugger.

Here is a little bit of info you may not know:

Chocolate is deadly to dogs. It contains chemicals that can kill a dog if it eats to much and the darker the chocolate the more dangerous it is.

Only found out after one of mine ate a giant bar of Cadbury's milk chocolate, he was ok though so I am not sure exactly hom much it would take it kill a dog.

Not all that great for humans either, IIRC the lethal dose is about 10kg although that might just be a myth!!

surely not those choc drops dog treats (that taste exactly the same as normal choc, little less sweet, which means you can eat loads :D).

Anyone seen that new gravy dinner from Bakers? We got some, it's bizarre, but my dog adores it, absolutely wolfs it down. It's completely dry, then you put 1 part water for every 3 parts kibble in (cold or warm, we use warm), then stir for 15 seconds, and gravy appears from nowhere, proper thick stuff you'd find on a roast :D

Dog food technology today, boggles the mind! :p

well, similar situation but i had to have a drip for 24 hours and have liver damage as a result so hoping it will be ok is a bit of a longshot : / sorry about your dog but take him to a vet
