The biggest game of Spurs' season - Carling Cup semi-final *SPOILERS*

the league shows what happens when we put out the full squad.

No. The league shows how consistent your "squad" can be that includes first teamers and back up players. Arsenal basically had there first team out tonight including some of there best (Fabregas, Gallas, Hleb, Adebayor). Arsenal were beaten and beaten well today, end of.

i love the "its was our reserve squad" excuse too, fair few times theyve been knocked out cups like this now isnt it ? youd think hed learn his lesson

spurs deserved to win, can't deny it and as for the "kids" debate, I totally agree, if we don't start with that starting XI in our next Premiership game, then I'll be annoyed.

lol

i don't think wenger lost any sleep last night, i was much more upset hearing about heath ledger than going out of the carling cup.

On a completely separate note are there any Swindon fans on the boards ;):p

The mighty Barnet make the 4th round for the second year in a row, shame that Fulham bottled it, would've been a nice London derby.

You'd think that getting into the 4th round twice would get you a plum draw once, yet we get Colchester, Plymouth, Swindon and Bristol Rovers

FIngers crossed for round 5 :D

How can one say that Arsenal fielded a weak side is beyond me. They are all professional players else why are they playing for the club?

Well done Spurs, good performance all round ( I was well impressed Jenas) and the fans were in good voice too :D

What are you talking about? In the last few 3 years alone 1 final and 2 semi-finals in the league cup.

If that was the case surely you would only have 11 players. The players who played last night are not the the best players at the club in their position.

He didn't start ;)

8 of those that started last night are not first choice players. In fact one was 6th choice in the position :p

Enjoy Wembley Spurs, whatever Arsenal side you played last night was just second to everyball. Can't complain about you being dirty, the referee being poor or us missing chances, we weren't good enough so you deserve it.

(Pity you celebrated like you won the league or something :))

i disagree, having your team beaten by 4 goals, your players arguing with each other and at your rivals ground :D

As for reserve team there was plenty of players in there that play in the league, plus people alway seem to forget we play youngsters such as lennon, ohara, huddlestone etc

I don't think it matters. I'm pretty sure if Arsenal played their usual team it would have been a different result. All irrelevant now anyway.

That would be the same ground we have won the league at TWICE.

O'Hara didn't play last night. Ex Arsenal too ;)

I'm not bothered as to who was playing last night, it is the team as a whole that counts, and Whinger got it wrong and thankfully spurs managed to capitalize on this, where in the past they have not.

It made such a difference having King back to partner Dawson in the middle, and that confidence showed through the whole team, with every player backing up their teammate.

We got at them from the start in the midfield which is what you need to do against them, and they didnt like it at all, and built on it from there.

Now all Spurs need to do is play the same way in the final and it will be a cup well deserved. With regards to the league, we need to carry this performance through and hopefully climb back up the table to where we belong.

Something Arsenal havn't been guilty of at numerous times this season I'm sure.

Infact there's a whole thread somewhere on redcafe devoted to taking the michael out of Arsenal over-celebrating :p
