Ive had a BFG 8800GTX 768Mb for about 14 months now (its been a great card)...and have just looked at some of the benchmarks scores with the new GTS 512Mb's that seem to be clocked higher than my GTX. Ive ran the GTX at 630, 2000 since getting it.

Are the new GTS's faster than what I have now????

Also...Im running a 24" screen at 1900 most of the time...so am I still beter with 768Mb of Video RAM?

I think in the review i saw GTX was slightly faster in some games/resolustions and the GTS was slight faster in others

GTX has 128pipes, GTS has 112.

They perform similarly... The GTX comes out on top in some games, whereas the GTS comes out on top in others.

Don't upgrade now; wait for wither the 9800GTX or the 'true' next gen carn in Q2 or Q3.

Incorrect.

They both have 128.

The GTS has far higher core clock speed, 650Mhz vs 575Mhz, and is able to overclock far higher than the GTX while also running cooler.

However the GTX has a 384bit mem bus and more memory, while the GTS only has a 256bit mem bus.

I just bought the new G92 GTS (128 pipes, 512MB) and am about to install it. I had to make the decision between the GTX and GTS, I decided on the GTS because it was slightly cheaper. I don't think the extra £50 would be worth the performance jump, I think if you have either of these cards you are probably better to go SLI than replace it.

Yeah, it's a tempting time for 8800GTX owners, but the new 8800GTS offers you nothing new, the main advantage will be lower power consumption and lower temps but performance will not improve.

The 3870X2 is also making it slightly worse now as it actually offers a performance increase, but uses crossfire. :(
