Do you find overweight people attractive?

Fat birds with good Norks & hips still pass.
Fat birds with No Norks just Fail in every way. It's like God had it in for them Personally & I always feel sorry for them, Not that Sorry though :D

Hrrmmm.

How much does being in the pinnacle of health matter if you're mobile, enjoying life, in a happy relationship, and not upsetting anyone? Give or take a year or two at the very end - people who are slightly overweight may even live a little longer (inconclusive really, but still: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/4468001.stm).

So okay, you may not find the more rotund individuals attractive, and they may be more at risk of developing certain disorders, but you know, maybe being happy is more important.

Why does 'jolly' always seem to go well with 'portly'? Fat = happy? Or contented people just don't worry about it all so much? And it's been proven that unstressed contented types get less ill, right...?

Sorry, just musing now, it's all a bit interesting.

I just keep seeing that picture of Pierce mucking about with a silly hat and one of those flat ball things on his head and the totally amused "Oh dear, love" look on the lady's face and smiling!

No way in hell. Although I don't like anorexic people either. Neither extremes are attractive. They must be smaller than me also :p

I can't make any sort of negative comment as I'm trying to get rid of almost three stone that has crept up on me over the years. Still, I do prefer thinner (but not too thin) women, preferably in the size 10 range which means curves in all the right places and no hideous waif like bones showing.

I have devised a ratio which results in a large amount of win:

Waist Size - Cup Size:
6 - c
8 - d
10 - e

Etc...

Discrepencies of 'two values' out can still be very attractive eg. 'waist 6 cup A' or 'waist 10 cup g', but the ratios given are basically god like.

And the chauvinist quota for the day is fulfilled...

Going by dress size is very unreliable. In this way, BMI is more reliable in giving you an overall impression.

I would estimate Pierce Brosnan's bird is about 14 stone and about 5'6". That makes her obese.

According to that I'm in the white area, is that bad ? :(

Not all size 8 women don't have a figure though. Also pregnancy is used a lot these days as the blame for putting on weight. I think it's rubbish, you'd have to eat like a pig to put on 4 stone in 9 months, seriously.

True, but a tall woman in a size 8 is likely to be thin.

My ex was tall, skinny, no curves, mainly bones.

Looking back, I don't know what I was thinking, must have been because we had similar interests (trance and clubbing) and I was still missing my first true love from a year prior.

As for pregnancy, well, calorie intake increases, exercise decreases, therefore at least some weight (baby withstanding) is gained.

Funnily, I'm not a fan of cup sizes above C. B/C ***! :D

If you were in love with the person before they got obese it would be different, however if you loved them that much you wouldnt allow them to get that fat. I wouldnt be attracted to an obese person at all if I had first met them.

Calories are increased but not by the amount most think, you don't actually need that many more. When I was pregnant with my second I was still active as I had to be with a 1 year old. Even with my last pregnancy, where I was on bedrest from about 22 weeks until I had him, I didn't gain much extra weight other than baby. I weighed, I think, about 4 pounds heavier than I did before I became pregnant a few days after the birth. With my first two I was right back to my normal weight. This was because I didn't eat "for two" like some women do.

Or fat=pretending to be happy? I've seen quite a few people on tv that are like that, put on a good show but inside are very miserable and unhappy about their weight. Just because someone seems to be happy doesn't mean they actually are.

No, not really obese, but why mention obese then post a picture of Pierce Brosnans wife who isn't. In fact, she's still attractive.

Each to their own. I was comparing the two pictures and she does look very fat to me.

Also wondering why you involved Pierce Brosnan and his wife in this thread. I'm sure he's at an age where he's beyond the puerile and adolescent mindset of thinking, fat=ugly.

Who makes up these rules then? So all young people think fat=ugly because they're immature and need to "grow up" I suppose? Plenty of older people think the same way, it has nothing to do with age. Personally I'm 30 at the end of the year and am married with 3 children so I'm far from adolescent. Oh and my father is 50 in a couple of months and thinks exactly the same.

No, and I've told my girlfriend that I wouldn't find her attractive if she got fat, and I've also told her to under no circumstances hide the fact that she thinks I'm turning into a porker if that seems to be the case.

I managed to put on 2 stone with the help of my ex telling me I looked fine all the time. My own fault, I know, but she didn't exactly help the situation.

I'm sure I read somewhere that women only need an extra 200 calories a day when they're pregnant.
Equivalent to a bag of crisps!
