second x2 review

Well it's hard to say, two 3870's will be cheaper but possibly louder, definately hotter and draw considerably more power both at idle and load.

3870X2 - idle ~200W - load ~400W
1x3870 - idle ~185W - load ~285W
1x8800GTS - idle ~200W - load ~325W

So if you're after a lower temp, lower power draw but crossfire performance in ONE slot, then perhaps the premium is worth it?

there's no way the card will be 400 notes on release, who in their right mind wouldn't save £120 and buy 2 3870's if this was the case?

I gotta admit, just for the tech aspect, i'd love 2x 3870x2's :D

But that would be around £740 which is flippin' expensive.

I know it's the old adage, but I REALLY hope that they get the drivers sorted for this, as it not only benefits this card, but crossfire as a whole.

Are they using better drivers for the InsideHW review, as in one of the previous reviews they were only hitting 13000 odd in 3DMark?

I still think it's better to not take too much notice until the NDA actually expires and we see Toms, Anandtech, and the others give us their take on the card.
