The biggest game of Spurs' season - Carling Cup semi-final *SPOILERS*

How did England fans react when they beat Germany 5-1? Far worse than Spurs fans have acted. That's not to say that even Spurs have their fair share of idiot fans though.

A whole country defeating 'the enemy' is a totally different matter to a semi-final in the 4th cup.

Something Arsenal havn't been guilty of at numerous times this season I'm sure.

Infact there's a whole thread somewhere on redcafe devoted to taking the michael out of Arsenal over-celebrating :p

Running as a team hand in hand to kind of do that weird collective wave/dive thing in front of the crowd. I have seen almost every game this season and I have never seen us do that. Had we won last night I would bet my months rent that we wouldn't have done it.

If we beat Milan over two legs I reckon then we'll see it as that'll be an acheivement. Whether we do of course....

Arsenal fans have always been terrible losers, but I'm gobsmacked at how poor some of the Tottenham fans have been in victory on the net.

I'm more interested in this Adebayor headbutting Bendtner issue, it only goes to confirm my suspicions that that horrible group hug nonsense Arsenal do is as fake as your average London Rolex.

Hahah, when I was 7 my mom gave me £15 for me to buy my sister a birthday present. Off to a market I went with my dad (I think near Leicester Square? My London geography is hazy), and I bought a fake DKNY one that stopped "working" after about a month. :(

Arsenal players always tend to be very emotional for some reason. I do believe in the group hug thing.

I think it's a case of Nick Bentdner revealing himself as somebody who can't be relied on because he's so inconsistant. He's scored a few goals this season, but then stupidly got himself sent off against Everton. Then he scored the winner against Spurs in the league, and then last night didn't put a relatively easy chance away and scored an own goal. I know he's young, but he's got a lot of maturity to develop. Though for Adebayor to kick off at him was a bit out of order really..

My 2p's worth, Being a passive spurs fan, I was seriously pleased with the win last night. I dont watch enough of Arsenal play to tell whether or not they played a good game, but they had all their best players on the field, also from what I saw, spurs played brilliantly. Looking forward to seeing who they will play after Chelsea v Everton :)

Playing Hoyte in central defence in a game like this was a mistake, I thought he was rubbish, basically had Gallas playing central defence by himself against Berbatov & Keane. Walcott as well was poor, hmm two English players....:p

Spurs played great and deserved to win by a decent margin, especially Jenas who played out of his skin. They would probably have won against Arsenal's strongest team, but I think the score would have been considerably closer. :)

Cracking game for the neutral though, end-to-end stuff for the full 90 and two teams with a lot of passion. Good stuff :)

I thought Arsenal were lucky not to go down to 9 men. One player aimed a nasty kick at keane i think(?) and Adebayor should have had a 2nd yellow for his hand in the face incident.
But I'm not surprised by those acts or the little tiff Adebayor and bentdner had.
Every team Wenger has had have always been very bad losers and always reacted very ungraciously in defeat. You can see where it comes from when he is interviewed.

I agree. Spurs at home in that form can beat anybody and they would have beaten Arsenal no matter who they fielded.

Yeah - White Hart Lane is like a fortress.

He said CAN beat anyone at home, didn't say we DO.

It was a fantastic performance last night and one that over the two legs was deserved. At the end of the day it was us who wanted it more, and it showed.

You get the Arsenal fans who have accepted defeat gracefully and acknowledged we were the better side and deserved to win then you get the fans who bring out "it was only our kids" phrase again. Yet they forget that there were 7 1st team players on the pitch at the end, and as previously mentioned Fabregas came on after 10 or so minutes and Adebayor and Eduardo after 60. Not to mention their rock at the back Gallas (who got made to look like a school boy by the whole Spurs team for 90 minutes).

In the end, we wanted the chance to be in the Final, yes its the League Cup, but all footballers want to win things, play in Cup Finals and play at Wembley, and thats what we are going to be doing. For some, its their first time at Wembley, and to others it might be their only time. Just remember, the first trophy some of the United lads won was the Carling Cup and it gave them the taste for bigger things.

Heres hoping this is the kick start to our season, like we had last season when we only lost twice between January and the end of the season. However, there is the bit of me that thinks we will see typical Spurs next time out and we will roll over for teams.

0-1 FT

so it will be a spurs , chelsea final

hmm i wonder if chelsea have enough fans to fill their allocation at wembley ;)
