Will we see them on members market shortly then? :P

I ordered mine this morning, in red, 1680x1050 screen, with 9 cell battery - managed to get them down to £744 inc vat with a 3 year warranty.

Not at all, there new pricing is quite aggresive at the moment on the 1530, a few codes about

Ive been looking at these, cant seem to see any screen options tho?

*edit* found it, they have 2 many damn options :)

What specs did you get? That seems like a bloody good price.

The 3rd of 4 options from the default screen (£799 starting price), customised and added 1680x1050 screen and 9 cell battery takes it to £888.99. It has the 8600GT DDDR3, bluetooth, fingerprint reader etc with it.

Theres a 10% off code kicking about then its a matter of haggling.

you can haggle with them?

Of course, you can haggle with anyone for anything, even in regular shops, i got £300 off a watch in the high street by playing two shops against each other, they saw me walking back and forth too :p

yeah but you cant play dell off against dell? what on earth did you say? "whats your best price?" :)

You just keep saying "that's not good enough, I want a better deal". They won't take money off after a point, so you start getting them to add on extras instead.

At the end of the day, they'll still make a profit, no matter how hard you push.

id say because its the end of month, they will be more likely to knock money off, as they will want to meet there targets ,etc

You tell them what figure you want to pay, and stick to it, in my case, it was £750 was the max. I know the rep that sells them (obviously not personally, but by previous association) and he always gives me a good deal, so much so now that he never offers me a discount as he knows we will have a good old haggle before i agree to anything :p

I saved £700 on an XPS 1710 last year by haggling, after it arrived i phoned to return it as i changed my mind and got another £150 off after agreeing to keep it :p

awwww, ive got a 1530 arriving tomorrow. c2d 2.0ghz, 2 gb ram, the standard 1280x 800 screen, 9 cell battery and wireless n for 840 inc delivery. i thought that was an ok price until i started reading this thread. its arriving tomorrow, so what can i do now if i want more money off, is there anything i can do.

Anyone got any docking solutions for this?

Don't fancy hooking up external keyboard, external mouse, external display & speakers each time.

Oh yes that is possible but the Xmod can reach higher volumes, which was my main reason for buying it the moment it came out. Laptops I've used in the past have onboard audio that just can't really reach a decent volume when using headphones. Don't get me wrong, the onboard sound on the 1530 is reasonable, but an Xmod delivers better audio.
