im applying for the police

Im about to apply for the police force, i know i proberbly wont get in but its what i want more than anything in the world. Before uni i was thinking of joining it, now 5yrs later ive been thinking about it a lot lately and now ive decided if i dont try and give it ago ill never get round to doing it and its my ultimate dream so im going for it.

anybody else here joined or applied ?
 
ensure you have a completely clean driving record etc first. anything other than 100% clean flags up and can hinder your entry. i was banned for speeding and applied for the police force 4 years later to be turned away despite being told it would be ok by the police at the seminars.

Your ultimate dream? I think that might be a first.

You just joining at the bottom....with your degree? It's just beyond me...completely...

Why such a negative attitude? My attitude to being is a pilot is I know I will be one, I'm that confident.

I had that, but they wanted more education, I know I could do everything required in the training, but they wanted an HND, not an ND, after leading me on saying that my ND was fine and inviting me back for 2 more meetings and presentations etc... bloody pencil pushers :rolleyes:

thats me failed then, i have 3points but they come off in june

Go get a good suntan, claim to be a gay Muslim from an ethnic minority and you should have no problem joining up.
 
If you are of ethnic minority or female then you will be fine, if your a white bloke it will be very tough.

p.s. If you get in, you can then march in london :D
 
How old are you Paddyuk?, if you don't mind me asking?

edit see your 22. Just that I know they prefer older people, obviously not too old but around late 20's

Yeah its been on my mind too about joining the police. Currently doing my degree but i'll be giving it proper thought when I'm done.

I'm more than likely going to try and apply through the lines of being a bisexual, Irish Traveller or some other ethnic minority that I could do.

Yup, that's the right attitude!!

ps - my white, british, male, average mate got into the Met Police ok. It was fairly tough and a fair few of his fellow intake didn't get through Hendon.

in relation to 80/20 paperwork/beat, that is plain wrong! Yes, there is a fair bit when you make an arrest, and it should be reduced, but it is nothing like that ratio!!!!
