Is this normal? See Pic

If you want to bend it back then just wrap a reasonably thick cloth around it so you dont mark it

Personally i would RMA it to simply because i would sell it one when i have a refresh

edit: oops didnt see xanders post

Well warranty would not be void if you bent it back because it would not be noticable then.

Well it would if its not completely bent back correctly or somehow I made a hash of it!

Imagine buying a brand new car and its got a dent in the door for example, what would you think? (or in your case willhub, a new bike!) ;)

But I do appreciate all constructive comments

Peace :)

For what it's worth, if I buy something new, I expect to receive it in a new condition. I would have sent it back also, but hey, everyone's different!

Hmm, well if it was a bicycle I'd just bicycle to the shop on it and ask em to correct it :p, I mean if the frame was bent I'd probs take it back and have em replace or fix it but its a little more complex than that piece of metal on a graphics card :p, I dunno well at least you gonna get it sorted out :).

As you say if the box and packaging was in bits then yes I would sent it back, or I wouldn’t of even accepted the package of the delivery company, but if it was just because of the bent plate that would be maddness  the plate has nothing to do with the card tbh if the cooler was dented cracked etc then yes but a bent plate crazy :p:D

Um,

Just return it under the distance selling regulations

Bloody hell why should you have to RMA when it's clearly a defective item? Just send it back within 7 days for a full refund. You can return for ANY reason.

Thanks for your input but I think you are missing a few points ;)

1) I dont want a refund, I just want a card thats 100% ok
2) With the DSR i am responsible for the shipping costs back the etailer so its not really a FULL refund if you know what I mean
3) As its damaged on delivery and I want a replacement they are collecting it and delivering a new one FREE of charge.

Peace all :)

All that matters that your feel you have done the right thing :) Have they quoted you an RMA turnaround? If so how long?

No turnaround time quoted, but as the RMA and arrangements to pick the card up were all done today I am quietly confident it wont be too long.

The card is being collected Monday between 9am-2pm :)

Ah that’s good :) To quote a time as well bonus :D BFG have a good RMA turnaround, my last graphics card RMA took 2 weeks :( had to use an 8500GT in the meantime. Hope it all works out for you and goes smoothly.

Thanks :)

As the card was damaged on delivery I will be requesting a new one direct from the etailer so hopefully wont be long.

ViRuS2k - Thanks for the grown up and insightful comment

i had the same thing on my card but the other end of the plate, rang OCuk to say it was bent, and was going to bend it back and try it.

just in case it had been damaged further.
the reply was right we will log it just in case.

put it in and no problems at all. good service i thought.

Porta, that was good service from OCUK then, glad it worked out for you.

When I called them the Customer service agent said that they would just RMA it straight away, that too so far is good CS :)

Peace :)

In that case I'd return it but only because I don't have the tools and the technical know-how to correct the dent.

Besides car doesn't come in a package and get delivered so you'll be able to examine it closely before driving it away from the dealer.

As said everyone is different :)

makes you wonder waht they manged to do to bend it like that.

BTW OCUK RMA's take about 3 days if they are doing any testing but this is quite blatent so id expect 48hours.
