It was said in jest a bit of ribbing hence the :D

because i felt like it but i did not go into fully as i was going to! regardless of a :D at the end :D "o'h look i put one at the end too so please disregard everything i have said

Who cares if it's a musical, it's Tim Burton ffs, anyone who's seen Nightmare before christmas or Corpse bride knows he can do them justice. This film is quality, go and see it and prove you ARE alpha!:D

quality film/musical.

i just got back from watching it and found it very very good!

dark and sinister!

and another thing, why are people so against musicals? you could be missing out on something amazing (and in my opinion you are).

To me its like saying you do not want to watch Brokeback Mountain because its about gays.

Well, if someone doesn't like 'gays' (a feeling they're entitled to) then that's fair enough, is it not?

Personally, I'm a big fan of Johnny Depp and I was disappointed to hear that this was a musical. I tried to watch his other musical with Tim Burton, Corpse Bride, but I could not get into it at all.

I was so excited when I first heard he was doing this 'movie', and now I just feel like I've been robbed. Musicals just aren't my thing - they're hardly a true representation of life. Which, for me, means I can't 'connect'.

I watched it last night, wasn't sure what to expect with it being a musical but i thought it was a really good film and would watch it again :)

Aye me and my mate went in the end. He hated it but I thought it was decent :)

Might go see it again with my girlfriend as I'm sure she'd enjoy it.

I had no idea it was a musical either, the missus came back from watching it and said that she wanted to go again, then talked about all the singing...

Coming out of the closet I have to say that I absolutely love older musicals and I've openly admitted on here many a time that one of my all time favourite films is The Sound Of Music.
I go to watch musicals live on stage.
I like Johnny Depp as an actor but this Sweeney Todd film is absolute garbage and there isn't one redeeeming song in it.
The subject matter doesn't lend itself to a musical either.
It reminded me of those several years where we had to put up with artists sampling the most stupid things to put in their rap records and it didn't work.
Whats the next musical going to be : Ian Huntley - I did it my way.

GREAT FILM !!!

The singing just tells the story.

An 18 rated dark musical. It's great and I doubt you will see many of them. So different than anything i've seen before.

Im off to watch this with the Mrs tonight. To be honest im really looking forward to it. It cant be that fluffy and happy being rated an 18.

Also i think Depp is a great actor.
