I've just bought a load of hardware based around a new Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R motherboard. I plugged everything in and was happy to see it pick up the XP install on my HDD and also the existing RAID 1 array. It's gone downhill from there though - I'm trying to install Windows Vista. Going into the BIOS there is an option to boot from HDD, CD-ROM, floppy and various external devices, but no DVD-ROM boot option
Vista comes on a DVD
I've updated the mobo drivers and done an online search without luck. I've tried to run the Vista upgrade from XP (which the manual suggests is possible), but I'm told the setup file isn't a recognized win32 application. Can anyone tell me what I'm missing? Even the mobo manual doesn't mention a DVD-ROM in the boot options. Without it I'm stuck on XP.
