January Transfer Window

I think you'll find Tevez' stats are exceptional alongside Ronaldo and Rooney as it is ;).
Babel has potential, but the odd thing I see with him is that he only ever seems to be dangerous for around 5 minutes a game. His decision making will improve (it has to improve) because at the moment it's woeful at times, there's potential there though.
Benayoun isn't as quick, but his decision making is a lot better, I'd go for him there. The fact he's bagged 2 hat-tricks this season is pretty impressive too, and he'll do the nitty-gritty if he has to.

We haven't seen the best of Babel yet, but he has masses of potential. Could become anything.

Agree with you with respect to his decision making. Also seems to look better off the bench when teams are tired.

Think he will make that second striker position his own in the next few years, can't see him staying on the flanks.

Yossi is a great player, fantastic technique but he doesn't provide an end product enough. Probably as effective as we've got though.

No end product yet has two hat tricks this season when he's been given a chance, Benayoun needs a run in the side.

Against what opposition though?

A poor, poor Besiktas side and a non league side.

Read my previous post again - doesn't provide an end product 'enough'

I don't think Woodgates attitude helps, the fact that Pogatetz is a solid CB and that Wheater has come on leaps and bounds has possibly led to the transfer.

Middlesbrough are criticized a lot, but there is no club in the league who allows their kids to shine like Middlesbrough do.

Desperate to fund another transfer?

Not quite, the money was available for the Alves deal already.

Woodgate's transfer has happened pretty quickly. As for reasons for selling him, these a few off-field problems this season. He has let his fitness levels drop and hasn't put in the work he did last season. He's also drinking quite heavily as well. He was giving the option of staying but told he had to knuckle down and fight his way back in the first 11 or he could move on.

If he can find his form from last season and stays fit then Spurs have gotten a bargain. If he continues playing like he has this season then we've gotten the better deal.

I wasn't being serious just trying to take the talk away from all these, libel, allegations ;)

Agreed with all your post. If he gets the bit between his teeth and King gets 100% then Spurs have one hell of a lot of potential there for a solid CB pairing. I mean King even makes Dawson look good ;)

If not then it's £7m up the swanny. Mind you we paid £8m for Krapboul

Also hearing that both Hutton and Gilberto are in London trying to thrash out personal terms. Biggest hurdle with Hutton is supposedly his family as his wife is expecting.

Our back four for Everton could be:

Hutton - Woodgate - King - Gilberto

So that must mean we played our 'kids' against Man Utd today then..? :D Of course all this could a load of old cobblers but tomorrow should be interesting.

I'd be playing that O'Hara, he played very well, though at times he's too eager to go for the tackle and Ronaldo did him a lot of times in the second half because of it. Certainly one talented kiddy though.

Yeah but he's a midfielder not a defender. He only played there because we really didn't have anyone else, did you see that state of our backline today? Only Dawson played in postion in our defence and he's useless without King alongside him.

O'Hara is winning over the Spurs fans though... confident and talented young lad :)

nearly weed myself at this one on SSN

Anne marie . says...

I hear from sources very close to Martin O Neill that he is very close to finalising a deal to bring in Boro's Lee Dong-Gook to bolster the smallest squad in the premiership
