"The British Board of Film Classification's successfully argued that the game had been approved for release on a misinterpretation of the law."

Rockstar must be getting a bit ****** off now. Told that it is fine then getting the decision turned around.

I, personally, am not bothered about playing the game but this is getting a bit ridiculous.

Do you think they are stopping it as they are sure under 18's will play it?

Whatever they do, it will still get into the hands of all the children who clearly use it as a muse to commit their favourite crimes.

This argument has been had so many times before on here.

Stupid, thanks again BBFC for ****ing up our games. I believe I should know what's suitable for me it's stupid being told what we can and can't buy, the games 18 for a reason and if parents wanna buy it for thier kids so they can go into to school with a pair of scissors and carry out what they saw in the game then it's the parents fault for letting them buy it. DEMOCRACY!

I'm just saying that it's stupid, us over 18 year olds not being able to play and enjoy this game because some stupid kid who stays up past 9 on school days played it.

Parents are responsible for what they buy thier kids it's over 18 and it states that - I don't see the problem.

Plus not everyone who plays or watches horror/fake snuff actually copies it in real life, those who do have trouble with life.

i just think this game is a bit over the top compared to other 18 rating titles and at the end of the day 18 rating titles always fall into the wrong hands

Hope they are successful in banning it. A precedent needs to be set regarding the amount of permissible violence in video games. Looks like Manhunt 2 crosses a line in the sand.

Sounds like those people who write into Points of View.

"I can't believe this was allowed on TV, it should be banned"

"I watched an episode of XXX and it was sick, it should be banned"

I always wonder why these people don't just TURN OVER?

Same with games.
If a few members in here don't like the sound of it, no one is forcing you to buy it.

Just because, in your opinion, it's sick, shouldn't prevent other people who don't find artificial, video game violience sick from playing it if they want?

Same arguments that went on in previous threads about banning stuff, but honestly, have the people in here who are saying it should be banned, even played it yet? Sounds like that post from the other day, that book author who was panning some game, who'd never even played it.

well to be honest ive not played manhunt 2 but ive played the first and if its anything to go by, i cant understand how people compare it to condemed....

in my view its to violent

Well didnt you know? If you wrap everything in cotton wool the problem will go away ;)

But in all seriousness, well said. I really couldnt careless about Manhunt 2, since if I dont like something I dont play it. Its more about the principal of the matter for me because what is going to stop them going after other games when someone else decides its not suitable for anyone to play?

I'm not saying let kids play the game but why the hell should adults have to suffer just because some parents cant keep an eye on what their kids are up to? It doesnt take a lot of effort to talke a small interest and keep an eye on what they are playing.

Couldn't agree more. Don't really care about Manhunt 2 but instead what it could mean in the future.
They are deciding what we can and can't play.
If it is being banned to stop under 18's playing it then what is the point of the BBFC in the first place.
However, if it is to stop over 18's playing it, surely we can decide that for ourselves.
Parents that don't take an interest in what their kids watch or play should not be angry at anyone else if they find out it is violent or inappropriate for their child.
