Warhammer: Age of Reckoning

DAOC realm vs realm was the best fun I've ever had in a game, expect for maybe Planetside when it was at its best. As far as I'm concerned this is DAOC 2, and I can't wait :D

The fact that it's got Warhammer slapped on top is the icing on the cake :)

Couldnt of put this any better myself, I dabbled in DAOC but it was before I was really into gaming and I didnt get into it but I do remember it being very good.

As for the Warhammer element, I used to play the tabletop 40k version going a few years back and still read the odd novel here and there and they are brilliant so yeah totally agree I cant think of a better platform for an MMORPG apart from maybe the 40k version??? which I believe is also on the drawing board?

God knows how long ago I applied for this and I still haven't got in. Despite a few negative comments its still my big hope for mmorpgs in 2008, and the genre needs a good year after 07.

*shameless plea warning* If theres anyone with an account gathering dust I'd give it a good home :D

Anyone read the pc gamer special on warhammer online age of reckoning? Man this looks to kick ass! I love games that reward players but i think wow would be to adictive for me, however i dont think i can resist the idea of the relm vs relm.
Will be buying defiitly.

O and i beleive they said possibly march.

Its absolutely definately not going to be march. The devs themselves have stated the current release date is Q2 of 2008 (april-june), and I would expect later Q2 rather than earlier Q2 (thats assuming it doesnt get delayed again, which quite a few people suspect it will , myself included :) )

Chances are the magazine article was written prior to the Q2 announcement

Just saying what i think could ahve been menchend but i cant quite remeber.

any race can fight against any race cant it? I just checked the FAQ and they can :o mmm.

Going by forum posts everyone is going to go dark elf black thingy, the heavly armoured class. But that means that high elf mages will kick their ass.

As far as I remember when I was into the community a couple of years back, there is two factions.

Dwarves, Order (Humans), Elves and...can't remember.

Orks, Choas (Humans..but different), Dark Elves...and something else...i think.

Might have been 3v3, but I have a terrible memory.

Its Dwarves+Empire (nicer humans)+High Elves V Greenskins (Orcs/Goblins)+Chaos(not so nice human types)+Dark Elves

2 factions, any race cant fight any race. Dwarves and Empire and High Elves are Order faction, and Greenskins, Chaos and Dark Elves are Destruction faction. Its Order v Destruction

And I will be a goblin shaman :D

Like others have already stated you shouldn't judge a game by it's beta test.

The WoW Beta was a great bit of marketing that was carried out pretty much when the game was ready to ship, and they wanted to tempt as many as possible to pre-order the game, most of the serious bug hunting/beta'ing had been done before flood gates opened.

I really don't think there is any mmo out or in development that will be a serious threat to WoW. it simply has too many regular subscribers and a growth rate that those that leave will be replaced shortly, especially with WOTLK on the horizon. And to be honest it is with good reason, WoW is simply the most polished and easy to pick up & play mmo on the market. While the graphics are getting on a bit they are stylised in such a way that they are supposed to be different from more traditional stunners such as LOTRO, and tbh stand up pretty well.

Regarding WoWs early game plays and early storyline it is great for both sides, especially the humans, around Elwyn Forrest, Westfall and Duskwood. They are three of the most atmospheric zones of play I've yet to play in an MMO.

I thought everyone knew this, it was in one of their newsletters from a while ago! Official release is late May, though it may well be delayed again. If it IS May I will unfortunately not be playing it, as I'll befully engrossed in Age of Conan then.

It annoys me that certain people get accepted into the closed Beta and don't know what they are actually there for when there is a long, long line of others willing to do beta properly.

I can't wait for this game, loved Dark Age Of Camelot, especially back in the early days before the expansions, I used to spend ages running to Hibernias main gate with my ShadowBlade just so I could kill some people while they try and level, and just to generally cause abit of trouble aswell.

I've been looking on the website and can't seem to find any Assassin type characters to play as, now I heard there wasn't going to be any stealth in the game, but have they completely taken out the sneaky type classes? shame if they have, I love them.

After Mythic's last outing with stealth-style characters in Dark Age of Camelot, and the amount of whining both because of and by them: I'm not suprised if they canned em :p

After taking another look, the Witch Elf is an Assassin type character, but from the looks of it, it's only female character models, so now I'm thinking of being a Squig Herder, them GreenSkins look so cool.

actually any race can fight any race. Right form the start if you knew the map you could walk across to where other races are fighting. i read that in the FAQ.
