Utd or Arsenal. Who would you pay to watch ?

this one man team thing gets on my wick a bit, i'd bet if he were out for a sustained spell we'd still be up there. the simple fact of the matter is that at the moment most of our stuff goes through him because he is currently playing football on a different level to anyone else (not just talking other united players). i think if any team had ronaldo in it they'd currently be accused of being a 1 man team.

That sums up why I would much rather watch United. Stupidly fast, one end to the other in seconds, perfect through ball, perfect finish.

I find the speed of our game far more exciting than Fabregas dilly dallying around the edge of the area waiting to slide Adebeyor in.

Arsenal play some very good one-touch football, but can lack ideas in the final third. If the opposition midfield and defence stick close and don't give them room to play, they tend to get frustrated and get sloppy.

Man Utd don't tend to play the same kind of patient one-touch football, but on the counter attack their pace and movement is scary. I'd prefer to watch Utd for that reason, as it's the kind of football I like.

Man Utd easily for me, we're more direct and attacking. Arsenal pass beautifully in triangles which is great to see, but I much prefer direct attacking sides, so for me, Man Utd (without bias).

It all comes down to whether you prefer watching the blistering pace of Uniteds attacks or the intricate passing of Arsenals.

Best post in the thread.
Although I would say the best passer in the league is Paul Scholes, but he's totally different in our team where speed, power, skill and finishing are our best assets.

Neither, I can watch them for free with an internet stream :D

But seriously if you ask an Arsenal fan they will say Arsenal, most Man utd fans will obviously say Man utd. Best to ask the neutrals to get a better idea.

What's right with it? The OP clearly says to put your bias/rivalry comments aside, so he comes out with a comment that he'd have to be paid to watch Arsenal? Why? Because they play ****? Or because they are a rival? It's bloody ridiculous the comments that appear on here.

The thread could have been a good discussion but it gets ruined by childish comments. Even your post made sense for once!

I don't think you are understanding atpbx if you think that ;)

I find the speed of our game far more exciting than Fabregas dilly dallying around the edge of the area waiting to slide Adebeyor in.

Wow such insight into our style of play

Hmm very tricky question, especially this season.

Arsenal are a very well groomed team, so many players who are extremely comfortable on the ball and the teamwork is fantastic, however they never really get the pulse racing, more just exude quality for the whole 90 mins.

Man Utd this season have been brilliant, the link-up play between Rooney, Tevez, Ronaldo etc has been outstanding and the pace of their attacks at times is amazing really.

Er, can I pay to watch Arsenal -v- Man Utd?

As an Arsenal fan I'll try to put my bias aside.

From a team perspective, I'd choose Arsenal as on their day I believe they are the best passing side in Europe. When they are on top form they are awesome.

However, even I have to admit Ronaldo is the best player in the world at the moment so if it was based on watching the individuals I'd choose Man Utd.

Nothing like sitting on the fence eh? :)

Of course, given a choice I'd have a ticket for 16th Feb and see both. Oh hang on a minute....I have got a ticket for that game;) Woohoo!

I guess you could word this another way

Which do you prefer to watch:

a) a brilliant passing team who take time to wear teams down with all their intricate, speedy and accurate passing

or

b) Really fast counter attacks with three of four players continually swapping positions

I not saying one is right and one wrong, or one less/more exciting I think the above is just as clear an indication (both teams do both, but in general I would say a) is more Arsenal and b) much more Man Utd

Personally prefer b, but I can appreciate the artistry/skill of a

When we are playing at our best i would say Arsenal every time but we aren't doing that consistently at the moment.

I'd pay to watch both. But as much as I admire Aresenal's intricate passing and fantastic off the ball movement - I tend to find myself enjoying Man Utd's unbelievably quick breaks out of defence and their variations in play throughout the game, just that little bit more!

If it was Arsenals team last season then I might be inclined to say Arsenal. but this season? United defo.

Oh actually stuff that. Being a United supporter I'd say United every time :p
