Does anyone have one of these cases? I'm thinking of buying one but I'm not sure if my display panel will fit correctly in the front as it looks like it's obstructed by the things on the side.

i have said case and you should be fine , i assume your talking about the the fins for want of a better word at the front these open up , great case for cable management as well have some pics if needed hope this helps you out.

Most people don't like the Thermaltake Armor`s that much because they can produce quite a lot of noise, but I tend to go with them because I kinda like them full sized, and they also have lots of space inside.

thinking bout buying one, getting fed up with silly case design. THe first stacker i had, its just a pain to work with, and not that big, ackward placement. WEnt with a small case for uni with the antec 900, and its way to small, gtx/2900xt pain to fit in with more than a couple hard drives, very little space between psu/hdd's to play around with cables. No idea why antec, who started the sideways mounted, rubber grommeted, massive space saving, easy access hard drive system, decide to leave it out of other cases. The sonata is great for systems i build for people but lacking in space and airflow for a top end system, so antec make bigger cases but ditch all the useful features.

THis armour seems to have just about everything, if fans aren't quiet at default can always run them at a lower speed easily, useful side intake. sideways mounted hard drives and hoping those bay things have some sort of vibration absorbtion going on. fans all over the place, massive space for mobo, watercooling at bottom maybe. Only thing its lacking is usefully placed holes in case for passing tubing outside case. TT on plenty of there cases put rubber edged holes just next to pci slots which is perfect, but for this case moved them way up by the psu which is just going to make for lots of ackward routing of psu cables and tubing. Makes sense to have space at bottom and have water input at the bottom so incase of any leaks of any water theres the least possible chance of a problem.

Can't work out why other places have it £20 -40 cheaper than ocuk though, i had a rant about 3870 prices compared to the rest of the uk and they dropped prices inline with the rest of the uk though. So might be worth noting the case is instock at £125, and preorder also at £110 multiple places, gibbo ;)

I'm happy to buy from ocuk, but not paying £20 more for everything for no reason.

I already bought it and it look nicely as it has some space at the back of motherboard tray for cables hidden - the new one as motherboard tray removal for easy install motherboard. I used the black one. The old Armor seem good but the PSU area still too narrow if you install big power supply, new Armor+ make you easier to put into. It come with 1 of drawer to put into 5.25" bay that included in the box and the top side is toolbox with slide cover.:)

thinking i'm alost certainly getting one. No idea why people want aluminium cases tbh. lighter and more expensive. problem being less mass = less interference for the noise. thick heavy steel panels absorb a heck of a lot more noise than lightweight aluminium panels do. A huge heavy case is the best starting point for a quiet case.

also, i would at a guess say that OCUK have same price on both cases, where mos tplaces have the aluminium more expensive case around the £140 mark but the cheaper steal case is £110-117 everywhere else. ocuk might have just missed they should be priced differently.

Well I got the case and the fins dont obstruct my LCD display - you can still see the full screen even when they are closed. This case is a massive, biggest I've ever had! I wasn't too sure about the whole hidden cable bit though as I found it way too fiddly. I was however going to order some more fans, so if anyone could tell me the sizes of the extra fans you can install, I would be most grateful.

Overall quaility well built case!

either 12cm or 14cm fans I have 3 of 12cm mult-led flash, 1 12cm green fan and 1 is blue 14cm fan (3 of 12cm sit at bottom and rear, 1 of 12cm green fan sit in the middle to cool the graphic card and the 14cm blue led fan sit on front to cool hard drive) also Ive ordered 2 of laser led to look nice - i also put 2 of bubble tubes on top and bottom that look so cool.

So you can use either 12cm or 14cm?

I'm currently just running on all the standard fans and was thinking of putting another 12cm at the back and then one at the top. So would I be ok if I got 2x 12cm fans?

1 put:

2 x 12cms multi-led flash fans on the bottom (remove the cover/grill which for hard drive use)
1 x 12cm multi-led flash fan on rear that fit excellent on fan holder
1 x 12cm Green fan sit in the middle to fit into 14cm holder (with screw) to cool graphic card
1 x 14cm Blue led fan sit on front for cooling hard drive

the multi-led flash, green and Blue fans are Thermaltake model and the bubble tubes I put on top and bottom plus 2 x laser lens sit near motherboard are from Sunbeam --- ok?

What about a fan on the roof of the case? My case has mounts there for a fan, but it doesn't mention anything about that on their website...

from what i can see on a review, they have not put on on this model, probably because of the changed layout of the PSU, the original Armor has a HD caddy at the top near the PSU, so it benefited from having a fan at the top, this one doesn't really need it and prob just comes in the way of the tray on the top of the case, etc!

No it wont fit cos if you buy big PSU like my Toughpower 1000w which is quite big size. the top roof fan used on old Armor model not on new Armor+

Does it matter that much? Hot air rises anyway so as long as there are holes there to let it escape heat buildup shouldn't be a problem right?

you got the right idea, this case don't need a top fan, the holes will do the main job of stopping the hot air build up, the flow of air through the case under normal condition will keep the case cool so you wont need top fan on it anyway!

would just get in the way if u did have it.
