Utd or Arsenal. Who would you pay to watch ?

Ronaldo is always on the wing and always gets back on the wing after any move. Ronaldo will only move around during a move. He's most certainly a winger.

Ronaldo, Rooney, Tevez, Giggs (or whoever else the attacking quartet are) are continaully interchanging and moving about. I'd just classe them all as "attackers" these days, gone are the days of the very top teams playing a rigid 4-4-2 so its hard to pin down what a player should be labelled as.

A system that so far is yielding fantastic results and amazing play. Long may it continue

Whilst they do move around, Ronaldo from Right to Left, after the breakdown of every move Ronaldo will always move back to the wing, but he's the total forward player.

Those who knock Fabregas for out love of intricate, overly pretty football must have not watched him play much. Of Arsenal's team, he's easily one of the most direct. So many times I've seen him just utterly unlock a team from nothing with the most simplest of one touch passes. He could just as easily play to Man Utd's fast counter-attacking style as he does to our current one. If you dislike the way we play, the blame is much more on Hleb or Adebayor than it is Cesc.

In all honesty, I might admit to Man Utd being the better team to watch this season. Arsenal actually haven't been that exciting at times, and despite being higher in the table, I'd say our football was prettier last season. I mean, we've had at least a couple of goals from Clichy long balls so far! Some of our play has been scrappier, and we've struggled with the pretty stuff a bit. We tend to switch off the niceties when it's not working. Man Utd, on the other hand, don't really need to do that, as the direct style will always yield the best way to goal short of lumping it.

...Ronaldo isn't so great vs a good defence.
Of the currently top ten teams in the Prem, he's scored against Arsenal, Everton, West Ham, Villa, Blackburn and Pompey. Those first three have pretty decent defensive records. Yes, he hasn't scored against Chelsea and 'Pool, but the best defenses are the best defenses for a reason.

Neither, as although I enjoy watching good football I only pay to watch football that I can get passionate about, Chelsea and England basically.
I've been to plenty of games involving good sides and good football in which my team wasn't playing but I can honestly say they've all been freebies and I don't enjoy them that much as I need to feel involved and shout and get frustrated and elated and that can only come from watching your side.
Both those sides are playing prettier football than my team at the moment, but that's not what going to a match is about for me so I just wouldn't do it :)
Very true. When you're actually invested in a match, I find it doesn't really matter how pretty your team is playing, or even how well. As long as you're scoring, and they're not, that's kind of all that matters.

He's a winger by trade but he's playing a free role this season from what I've seen.

Most definitely, this season he has been in the box as much, if not more often than Tevez and Rooney which is why he is scoring so many. Man utd have definitely tweaked their play to get him more on the end of their moves and it is paying off.

I think there was information somewhere that said Ronaldo covers more yards than any of our players. You watch the amount of goals where Ronaldo is in our box and runs the full length of the pitch to get on the end of a Rooney/Tevez pass because he's quicker than them. He gets in the box more often than them because he's fast and runs hard all game, not because he doesn't do the wing-work.

I'd pay for both. But I prefer our more attacking balls out run down the flanks, everyone running forward approach rather than passing for a few minutes and building up an attack. I know which one gets people off their seats more, Arsenal play sublime football at times but we are more consistent with our style and have reaped more reward from it too.

Bias aside

Blistering pace is allot more exciting for me, and thats why i cant stop watching a united move to save my life! (or it could be because im a fan :p hard to separate my bias side tbh), spare 5 minutes on youtube i go or on sky+ recordings :)

someone already said this says it all

and i agree, rather have that than any 10-20 pass move

The most exciting player out of the teams is Ronaldo. Watching him tearing a team apart is always worth paying for.

However as a team I prefer watching Arsenal. I just found myself clapping at the tv when they score a goal. Some of the passing is so intricate, and the movement from all players in the build up, playing in triangles all over the pitch, it really is a joy to watch and I could do it all day. Hleb and Fabregas are superb.

When Man United break like they do with the unbelievable pace of Ronaldo though, that really is a sight to behold. Man United have a more direct style but I just love watching a team like Arsenal knocking the ball around patiently before picking a perfect pass out.

Lets face it though, both sides are a joy to watch on their day.
