Second life on bbc1 o dear

Basically it was about a man and woman who play Second Life 24/7, to the total detriment and neglect of their real lives. The guy is from London and the woman from the US and married with children. They spend all their time with each other in Second Life and inevitably fall in love, imperiling the woman's marriage. Finally, they meet each other only to discover that they're each as vacuous and socially-inept as the other. End.

This should be a lesson to -so- many nerds, yet it won't stop legions upon legions of outcasts kidding themselves into thinking that the (omg its a) girl they "know" online is anything other than the woman of their dreams and mother of their future children.

Freaks to be honest.

Does the BBC have any financial interest in Second Life? The amount of stories about it on their web site and now this programme seems a bit strange?

Didnt they add something that allowed you to watch some BBC stuff in the game?

Or am I just insane?

For such a suposedly popular game, I've never met a single person who plays Second Life. Does it even exist?

I remember a few years ago Second Life was being talked about by loads of people so i downloaded it....

I think i lasted about 1 week then quit. Its not a "game", its a 3D MSN really.

Unfortunatally its so easy for people who have real life problems to escape it one way or another via the internet.

He should have cancled the internet subscription and gone to marrage counseling.

That's the point, you aren't ever going to meet someone who plays it as they very likely don't leave the house ;)

Second Life is totally demonised by the media.

I've been "playing" it on and off for over 2 years, and yes sadly there are people that go on it to have a "relationship" and "kids" but in reality the whole thing is platform to create what the hell you want in a virtual world. People just have very little imagination in going onto it and creating exactly what the game lables "Second Life".

There are many different amazing projects on there, completely user created Fallout style games and FPS. You can also create things for sale into real money and make a ton of cash. The Metaverse is simply, your world your imagination, so if you're a sad ******* you're going to create that persona on Second life too.
