Are these REALLY this cheap now?

The P1 is an STI Type-R version 5, but Prodrive revised gear ratios to make them taller, different spring/damper rates (softer) and dropped the DCCD. They also changed the front lip and rear spoiler.

I'd rather a 5 Type-R myself.

I hate scoobs. So un-imaginative.

Yes lets join the hoards of scoobie owners, wishing they all bought an evo.

Why do so many people think this? The STi didn't come over here officially for years, so the Evo didn't even have a competitor in the UK scoob.
Now it's different, and a lot of people choose the scoob, due to the cheaper, and less regular servicing costs, along with the better day to day comfort. On a back road, between an equally model matched Evo/Scoob, there is nothing in it. But the Evo edges it on the track due to the scoob being on stilts as standard ! Also some people find that the Scoob has more character, because the Evo is all electronic trickery, just like a Skyline, which again many people consider to lack character. I've drove both a P1 and an Evo 6, IMO the scoob looks better, sounds MUCH better, and is a more enjoyable drive, but the Evo's handling is sharper, and the brakes better also. But faster does not make it better or more fun.
You say hoards of scooby owners, why is it a bad thing? And how does it make the owners unimaginative, if they bought an Evo would it make them more imaginative  I love scoobs and evos, but for the road I'll choose a scoob every time.

Not sure what the colour is called, but the grey they come is is awesome.

Thats your opinion. :)

141k no thanks!

I'd take an EVO everytime if I had the cash, but having never driven either my opinion means nothing :D

What a moronic thing to say. Surely if they 'wished they bought an evo', they would have just......bought an evo

Have you actually driven either of the two?

You would think....

Personally i think thats a fantastic car for the money, the dash does put me off and i'm not sure i could look past that for a daily driver.

Which the GSR/FQ/MR has.

What about RS,RSII,GT,MR RS,RSX,Monte RS,RS Sprint, RS450 etc etc ;)

Don't bring Ralliart versions into it because they were specials when Mitsubishi weren't importing the Evos yet :p But I'm aware that the RS's didn't have AYC, but they were also more raw involving cars in comparison to the GSR/FQ/MR. Dont forget that the majority of people won't know about all the models of scoobs and evos like you and I would. The majority of the UK sees all scoobs the same and all evos bar the FQ400 the same as they actually have no idea about the cars  Hence the Evos are better than scoobs arguement everywhere you go, when clearly they're thinking UK turbo 2000 vs Evo 6 GSR.
Unfortunately the UK has some messed up ways of having Evos and Scoobs, but it benefits for the Evos with such beasts as the FQ400 etc. Scoobs don't get that sort of UK manufacturer tuning :(

Not going to need it with the huge and heavy Evo x. STI will beat it in every aspect, well apart from load capacity :p

Mind you being a hatch it probally wins there to :D

Well from watching the videos it does ! But then again that's jap versions. Don't forget the most powerful STi the UK will provide will probably be around 330bhp compared the the 360+ from the Evos.
Either way they're both great cars, I just hate it when people say x is better than y, when really they've no experience of either. I won't say scoobs are better, and I won't say Evos are better, I'm just a scooby man, who would love to own an Evo also :p (and an STi instead of a wrx :D )
