Are these REALLY this cheap now?

Don't have an answer for the "un-imaginative"?

Even the STI's and non STI, and N/A versions, they all look the same.

At least the evo's have changed looks (I preffer the Mitzi Evo myself) in their incarnations, although some were far too similar imo.

Un-imaginative. But thats MHO. :p

Sorry to offend, but see far too many blue scoobs being ragged by silly boys trying to impress. Maybe thats me too!

What a moronic thing to say. Surely if they 'wished they bought an evo', they would have just......bought an evo

Have you actually driven either of the two?

Yes. Well drove a CAT D turbo with STI's bits slapped on (albeit not for very long) :D

Evo (original) yes, then VII.

Take it with a little pinch of salt eh?

:p

I was going to get a Scoob (£5k ish) but insurance was silly money. It was a 2.0l turbo with about 200bhp.

Just due to the debate about Evos and Scoobs I figured I'd post this in here instead of a new thread...

I didn't think/know/realise that Evos came in D format? I know it says it's an import, but still.

InvG

You could be right. All I know is it was bought from auction written off, and repaired with STI bits and put back on the road.

Edit iirc the running gear came from a rear ended STi.

gypo boys, but the car turned out good considering.

Huh?

Did they change or didn't they?

And I'll stick with the conventional reply: the Evo is a focussed track car which is too aggressive for normal use, and relies on electronics to get the effects. The Scoob is a bit sloppier, but easier to live with day-to-day. Until very recently it did everything with trick diffs and understeered like a ******. I gather it still understeers. And the Evo is five grand overpriced for what you get.

I like em until someone you meet tells you they drive a 'Scooby'.....okay mate. That grey one posted with that stoooopid plate.

Other than that I love that boxer engine sound and the looks of the exterior, but the interiors always ming and look dated.

On a separate note is the new hatchback STI's/WRX's now to be seen on the roads imports, or are they UK spec'ed. Passed a 'scooby' garage the other day and they had a silver one with black wheels with a huge air scoop on the front with STI or WRX cannot remember which.

Cannot believe he was selling it so cheap.

Why does any thread about a subaru become a scoob vs evo thread? I was going to buy an FQ300 but chose my Prodrive STI V7 PPP over it because to me, the overall package was moremdesirable. It was the same shape as the the car Richard Burns won the championship, it sounded way better and I preferred the interior and looks of the car (its a marmite thing I guess). Plus it was just as fast as the FQ300.

Because everyone wants to race a Subaru and win. :)

Sometimes they do sometimes they don't but they all want to try it on.

Now this threads gone like all the others I'll take my leave.
