a) Puts you back on the road after a crash, in the middle of a tense racing, facing the side of the road or a wall.

b) Everything is a huge drama. Clip the bumper on a car? Watch a 10 second video of your car flying 500000 feet through the air whilst everyone else in the race finishes and has time to make coffee

c) Want to select a car? Sure, just want 5000 hours to watch every car in the world fall from the sky first

d) Satnav? Intermittant. Sometimes it works, sometimes it sends you completely retarded ways, sometimes it jumps from 5 miles to finish to 10 miles to finish.

OMG ARGHGHGHGHGHGHHGHGHG Controller = Wall

No, but it is dull with a lot of needless features like the ones you mentioned padding out the game.

Bring back proper burnout games please.

I also thought the car changing animation was unbelievably slow, and I did feel relieved every time I clipped a car and it didn't do its huge drama-animation thing.

d) Satnav? Intermittant. Sometimes it works, sometimes it sends you completely retarded ways, sometimes it jumps from 5 miles to finish to 10 miles to finish.Don't know, don't use it and go for the way I know there are shortcuts

I've only played Burnout Takedown on xbox but it was one of my favourite games. Very easy to get into and fun, you could skip a crash or slow it down and manipulate the crash.

After downloading the demo on the PS3 I found to my dismay that they have taken out all the good points. so you now have to drive around and find the races or events, then drive somewhere else to change car or mod it, and the crashes are so boring. They are more like road safety adverts.

Burnout Hell more like.

It's why despite loving and perfecting Burnout: Revenge I haven't touched it with a barge pole.

TDU set the benchmark for how a free world racer shoud behave and everything I've read about Burnout: Paradise looks like it was designed to wind people up. Shame.

How can you pause an online game? Of course its realtime.
Never played online so there might be a difference between online and single player, I have had crashes in single player where it seemed that the other cars did not go that much further when my car was crashing.

Anyway, the rubber-band technique should get you back to the pack very quickly.

The crash action is realtime, as when you are in the last 10 secs of a race, the beeper is still going as you are watching the slow mo crash replay.

There are flaws in the game, but none have put me off so far, to me it is on-par with Revenge after putting in the hours. I put 60ish into Revenge and have put 75 into Paradise so far.

I also find this game slightly frustrating but more tedious to the point that I'm trading it in. It was fun at first but the slow-mo crashes just annoy me now and having to complete events over and over to finish the game is boring. I also find the open world just plain boring.

Takedown and Revenge were far superior games IMO.
