No need for a diesel!

Becuase a 99p calculator gives you realtime information and up to date mid-journey averages.

Depends how 'accurate' your averages are. I love to see the 48mpg read out on the E46 when it actually works out closer to 42mpg. This is even after the calibration setting was altered. :(

Why do I want an MPG readout in my car ?

Why can't I use a calculator ?

I want an MPG readout because I'm a tight git with my money :p I enjoy driving my car hard sometimes, But I would like to see what the " Realtime " figures are for my heavy right foot.

Using a Calculator ? I don't want to work it out after using all the fuel in my tank ! :D

Infact, I've found something that might be of use to people who don't have an MPG readout and want one..

Its a bit pricey though..

one thing peugeot always seemed to slip up on compared to citroen. equipment levels. partly why i gave up on getting a 306 in the end, the xsara had all the toys, trip computer included. shame really.

if only PSA sorted their act out and chucked the 110PS lump along with all the toys in the very attractive P3 306...

Unfortuantely BMWs 'estimate' of your fuel level is horribly wrong.

You'll never see 700 miles to an E46 tank. Best I've seen from an M47 is 650 with it stuttering into the fuel station from a sedate 60mph non stop motorway trip.

I got 600 miles (Olso to Mo i Rana) in my E39 530D, and the the computer still said I had 150 miles of fuel left... But I did have 1/4 of a tank left. But I still had 200 miles to go, and the filling station in Mo I Rana was really cheap, so I fillled up.

From Oslo to Mo i Rana, I was pretty much averaging 50mpg, unfortunatly the last 200 miles were much harder to keep up a steady pace, and it did drop the average down to 48mpg :(.

The cars computer was pretty close working out the fuel/remaining distance, and as with Fox's car... The MPG reading was within 1mpg of what I calculated as I brimmed in Oslo, Mo I Rana, and again in Eidbukta.
