OcUK Trackday Date - Feb 10 or 17?

LJ can fill us in on that one, but my 1.8T has a cam possition sensor on the intake cam, if it knows somethings not right it won't let you do anything at a guess, also if the valves have hit and bent something that would stop it from moving, wouldn't even turn over when pushed in gear!

Most of the sensors would actually need the engine to turn to determine if anything was wrong unless it's getting no signal at all from it.

If it's not turning over on the starter then either there's an electrical problem to the starter or something inside the engine is physically stopping it turning as you said.

Paradigm,

I have a spare head here but I dont think it's going to be suitable for yours as I'm assuming you have a VVT solenoid?

Nice pictures guys seems like a good day out. Was shocked to see Neil spin? Thought the other teg was going to hit him. Only to go past and wheelspin off.

Thanks to Lopez for the vid. :D

Here's a couple of pics, mainly of me sadly :o

Pulled in then started smoking quite worryingly!

Hope the Leon will be back asap!

Was a good day even though I didn't go out in any cars, good to see some of them in action.

Tim, Your EK9 surprised me with its speed, didn't realise they were that quick.

Also was such a shame about El's LCR there, hopefully it can be sorted fairly quickly and not cost too much! Keep us updated on the engine please.

I know someone.. He messes around with 205 GTi's and loves moonstone blue ( Baby blue as he calls it ) ;)
HA!!!! You're joking aren't you?? Let's just say... I'm not with him for his bling :p

You know you really want the 70-200 f/2.8 IS L ;)

That, plus a 2x teleconverter will be my next purchase.
Hmmm, remortgage time? :D Advice from a homeowner.... buy your expensive lenses whilst you still can!! :(

Nice shots Vertigo1... I have pretty much convinced myself that I physically need a 70-200 F4 (without the IS though) now. It's been on the cards for a long time. Just got to work out who I need to rob to fund the damn thing!! :p
It's a hell of a lens for sure, although as I said, the IS is a luxury you can easily do without as it only helps remove the need for a tripod and doesn't freeze action.

Back during the last Canon cashback offer you could get a 70-200F4L for £270 delivered if you bought from the right source. I'm sure there'll be another cashback offer at some point this year.

One of the best lenses ever created, by all acounts, but very very heavy and very very expensive.

In the right places you can pick up the lens and teleconverter for under a grand. I think that's pretty good considering the quality of glass and versitility that combo will give you.

Damn, looks like most of the photos were took on the later sessions when I wasn't on track:( Superb shots though, we're lucky to have so many good photographers in our group!

Belter aint it? Bring a helmet next time;)

Really great day and good to see everyone, thanks to all who have taken a photo of me! Stupidly tired so wont be typing much till tomorrow.

Looks like a cracking day! Sorry to hear about your car problems El, but with the oil light flickering, it can't be good whatever it is :(

Still, I really hope it's not as bad as you think.

I was down in Loughborough today at my cousin's birthday party and on the way back home (at about 6pm) there was an accident on the M1 northbound right near Donnington. My first thoughts were a few OcUKers had been a bit foot happy on the way home... but glad that wasn't the case ;)

saitrix, you weren't on the A512 at about 1:30 were you? A yellow Dolly Sprint went past us the other way. Can't be many around :)

Shame I missed it today, especially seeing as I was in the vacinity of Donnington anyway. Some good pics and videos too.
