Phones4u lies

I know a project manager for Orange (Bristol) who happens to be testing the N95 8GB at the moment (as well as a couple of E90's), was round his place the other week. Next time he is online I'll find out what the deal Orange + N95 8Gb is. I think he is the project manager for the team that puts software on Nokia handsets (at least he use to be). He is constantly moaning about the Nokia software updates and how they never fix the things that need to be fixed and just do what the hell they like :p

No, the suggestion is that two music stores with different pricing, compatibility and so on is confusing, which is a different thing entirely.

so basically orange saying 'remove your music store or we wont stock the phone', which amounts to the same thing as was originally said hehe

Its a place in Coleshill called NSH (National Service Hub)

They only do nokia and mainly for orange, all the ones that get sent back for repair, test and refurb and then sent back out as replacement handsets for orange care.

I've always had bad experiences with phones4u. they're rubbish. you go in there with a particular phone or network in mind and they'll try to convince you to get something completely different and they're very pushy.

They will push Vodafone on you as they make more money on them from a deal they have with voda, they offered me 6 months free line rental on Voda, told them not a chance.

different months = different deals from the networks, so they will push whatever they are getting the most commision on at that time :p

I don't know why anyone goes to them shops why not just go direct to them surely they have to offer abit deal then a reseller well they have everytime I have looked

I also find the support from these types of shops is shocking - twice i've been burnt now when trying to sort out problems with my phone, and it looks like it's going to happen a third time. They just don't care.

I remember going into P4U once to look at phones. PAYG ONLY, I didn't want a contract. Unfortunatly they wouldn't take this for an answer and repeatedly tried to get me to sign up for a contract. Offering me free line rental, money out of the till, all sorts. All I wanted to do was look at the phone and have a go on it, and see if it was any good. They told me they wouldn't do that as I was "only interested in PAYG". I had to say I was interested in a contract, go through a load of forms before they would let me play with the phone in question.
Oh, and after having a go with the phone, I got up and left. :D

And twice i've been done over by CPW. First time was when I went to get a data cable for my 7360. The person sold me the wrong one, then wouldn't give me a refund, instead insisting that he could order in the correct one. After keeping me stringing along for 3 weeks, and even then ordering the wrong cable, they still would NOT let me have my money back. When I got upset and told them I wanted a refund, the guy had the nerve to tell me not to be "aggressive"! In the end I just gave up, it was only a tenner.

As for the second time, well they sold me a phone that has a pretty serious fault and then refused to help me at all, instead telling me that unless I could replicate the fault there and then, I was on my own (the fault was intermittent, and sometimes could go for days without happening). I could have decked the **** in the face. I'm currently in talks with Nokia over the problem, luckily they're more helpful.

I won't be buying from either in the future, I hope they go out of business, pushy *****.
