FA Cup 5th Round *Spoilers*

Chelsea's route: QPR, Wigan, Huddersfield, Barnsley
Man Utd's: Villa, Spurs, Arsenal, Pompey

At least you can say you earned it, if you win :p

Good thing that Portsmouth won yesterday because, as someone pointed out, otherwise it would be impossible for the FA to give Utd another Premiership side (11 in a row is it now?) whilst making sure Chelsea got the worst side in the competition.

Bristol Rovers are the "worst" team left in the comp.

Barnsley boss Simon Davey-

"It is a fantastic draw and a fantastic achievement for us to be here - and now we have a glamour tie as our reward"

Sorry Liverpool :p

i prefer to beat the best on the way to winning something, except when we lose. then i wish we'd had an easier team. when we lose to an easier team- those are bad days.

Chelsea at home, suppose I can't grumble at that.

Would have been nice to have a tie we could have had a chance in though. Having said that... :p

Well there is clubs in lower divisions than bransley's that have won the league since liverpool last challenged for it! :D

As the saying goes, you can only beat what is put in front of you. The whole point of a cup competition is it is based on luck-of-the-draw, one off matches and the simple fact is if you are undefeated then you deserve to win the cup. The only 'fair' competition is the league (unless round 39 comes in....) but everyone knows where they stand from day 1. It's not like you could say to Chelsea "you know what boys, you've had an ez road to Wembley, so you can start the final with -2 goals mmkay?" :)

soyou think its complete fluke that Man Utd have had 11 prem teams in a row?

Come on the odds on that are 1100+/1 , its not a completely fair draw

To be fair, the odds of winning the lottery jackpot are 14 million to 1, yet someone wins it most weeks :p

As annoying as it is that we continually get drawn against big teams, I doubt the FA are fixing the draw.

The only "evidence" for this was that bloke supposedly pulling the wrong ball out when we drew Villa...

Oh dear, are you suggesting FA plan this? Don't be so bloody childish.

So combine those odds with the odds that Chelsea always get a lower league opposition - and yeah it does look a little dubious

Well of course this is 6 specific numbers out of 49, also not aware of how many tickets (lines really) are sold, but its got to be several million regularly.... not really the same comparing it to one club getting one of (max)19 others 11 times in a row

From a purely mathmatical point of view it is nigh on impossible to continually get picked like this
