Everyone deserves democracy
Even Kosovo?
Everyone deserves democracy
If Cuba is so nice, how come so many Cubans try to sail to Miami?
I hope Cuba can now get the true democracy it deserves, a leader who is not a man of violence.
It was your "deserved" democracy that started the Bay of Pigs in '62. That has been illegally embargoing a country for the last 40 years. Your "deserved" democracy that has created the Helms Burton Act - a scandalous piece of legislation that America should downright ashamed of creating. Nothing like kicking a poor, starving country whilst it's down huh? It's your "deserved" democracy that's actually kept Castro in power for so long.Everyone deserves democracy - until the human race can come up with a better system I guess.

They leave because not everyone wants to live as a Socialist. As freefaller said, America is a very luring place. But look at many of them now, stranded in the ghetto's of Miami.

After introducing so many punitive measures against a country, just because it's leader didn't want to bow to it's might, when in actual fact all the Castro revolution was trying to do was restore it's own country through nationalisation of industry and farming?
Slightly off-topic but it's also your "deserved" democracy that stamps around the world trying to police things that it has no right butting into.
If your deserved democracy is always so childish, babyish, obscene, murderous, cruel and not to mention illegal, then you can keep it.
Geez all I said was that I hoped Cuba would return to democracy - surely gotta be better than another dictator?
Everyone deserves democracy
A Communist society is the ideal one. In a perfect world we would all be commies.
Pre-Castro, Cuba was a military dictatorship under Batista, so it was really no change apart from the colour of the dictatorship.

Depends. As I was saying, in this case in particular a dictator is better then your Democracy.Geez all I said was that I hoped Cuba would return to democracy - surely gotta be better than another dictator?
Actually, Communism is ideally a system of government where the people work for the benefit of each other and the state, and everyone is equal. True it is abused by those in power, and often for their own gain. No, communism is an inherently evil system whereby everything you do is for the state. You cannot own anything yourself, so things like where you live are decided for you by the state. Any innovation only benefits those at the top of the pyramid, not the innovator.

Not so. Communism as known in history is as you describe. Note I said in a perfect world.
In a perfect society the communist way would be the way. There would be no megarich, there would be no class structure, no proles, no state...
Depends. As I was saying, in this case in particular a dictator is better then your Democracy.
No - communism is all about common ownership, which is exactly as I described. Perhaps I shouldn't have mentioned "the state", but if everyone owns a house, someone has to decide who is entitled to live in that house. Plus if a system requires a perfect world to function correctly then it is a very imperfect system.

And LOL - what's with the "my democracy"?

Of course it is. Which is why I'm not suggesting we should put it in place.
Carry on stating the obvious![]()
In a perfect communist state, everybody would have equal status and equal access to the resources of the state. All houses would be the same so it wouldn't matter who lived in which house.
Due to the nature of human beings and their innate desire to obtain more wealth or possesions than their peers, this communist utopia is unattainable but the theory is ideal.
