Couple of questions:

EDIT:

Does anyone have a LIST of the hardware in it so i can collate the latest drivers myself?

From what I've gathered in the 'Owners Manual':
- the IR receiver is at the front
- it says when the blue light is solid blue, it is charging; and when flashing blue, it is almost fully charged. Nothing about being fully charged however
- there's some info about the hardware in the 'Specifications' section, although not all of it is detailed. At the moment, I'm using the drivers from the 2 zip files here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=212981&highlight=169.01

Cheers - yeah i noticed those links a few posts back, but i'd ideally like to compile the latest drivers for my nlited cd.

Didn't know the M1530 could take a 2nd hard drive internally.... I thought that was just the M17xx range.... Would be good to be corrected as I'll have 2 disks which I could use. If you do find out, please post in the thread.

Hmmm maybe i'm wrong now then i'm sure i read you could add another drive.
Glad i went for 250gig now if that is the case you can't add another drive.

I think they do accept visa debit, it says they dont but try it anyway, some say they go through ok.

Outlet pickings have been very very poor the last two weeks, no free delivery and no £55 or £95 off, not many drops as well.

where do you usually get these offers from are they on the outlet website, or do you get voucher codes?

would appreciate your comments

thanks

They do special offers now and again, usually changes every friday morning, when you check out on the outlet and select what warranty you want etc, there are boxes to tick for things, thats where the money off boxes are, if none are there, theres no special offers.

This kinda sucks, been at it for a few hours now and I've only managed to get half of the things working fine after installing Windows XP Professional. I'm using this guide atm: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=153941 but I cannot seem to get the audio, wireless, and enable the scrolling features on the touchpad yet. Forced to use some M1330 drivers atm because there's a lack of XP drivers for the M1530 on the Dell site.

Oh and I got my first worrying DVD-drive sound, when I was installing Windows XP and the disc started slightly rattling inside. It has only been this disc so far though, and other discs seem to work fine, so fingers crossed it was just a bad CD :) I need this laptop to continue with my project and I don't want to have to send it back and wait again. Besides, I have probably used a DVD-drive like less than 10 times in the last year.

I downloaded all the drives already. All i need now is my laptop :D

What wireless card you got?

Bit disappointed - just found this spec laptop on the outlet but they now want £49 plus VAT delivery which they did not want earlier in the week.

Not paying delivery that high out of principle!

5 hours later and I have everything set up. Well according to Device Manager anyways. Now gonna install 3DMark and test this lovely 8600M GT. I'm using the 169.09 graphics atm.

And to answer a previous question, I have the 'Intel® Pro Wireless 3945 802.11a/b/g Mini-Card' wireless card.

Is there much difference between the Intel 4965WLAN Mini-Card EUR card and yours?

As mine has that in it and i sure as hell hope it works with my sky router as my wife wants the laptopset up wireless.

Those of you who received their M1530 and 1330s do you guys also have the music stuttering issue? :(

It's getting quite ridiculous I'm getting a few stutters every 5 minutes or so :(

Is it the hardware or just a matter of drivers?

Also now I've had it for nearly a week I noticed that there's a high pitch sound which is quite obvious when it's running on battery.

ive just picked that up, going to save it over night and see if any discount or money off appear tomorrow.

Just installed XP on mine but strugling with some of the drivers.

I have the driver pack but some of the drivers dont work.

When i view under Device Manager there are two things without drivers, one is "BCM2045" and the other is "PCI Device".

One of them in Audio as i can't get that driver to install but i am unsure what the other is.

What should i do?
