Ford RS Cosworths

Because they are old and look like Ford Sierras. They are not modern, they are not nice inside, they are not quiet and refined, they are going to need an MOT and probably some remedial work annually, they are going to look a bit tacky in the works car park.

That was exactly my point, I'm glad somebody got it :p

I was raving about a tuned Opel Kadett the other day in work, but most people (even ones who drive modern performance cars) just looked at it and said "Yeah great, but it's vile and I wouldn't be seen dead in it"

but they arnt car people so that sorta response is to be expected lol

but why would you be talking to a non-car-nut about cars anyway?

scenario 1:

woman - what car do you drive
man - BMW
woman - lets go back to mine

scenario 2:

woman - what car do you drive
man - sierra cosworth
woman - i've got to go there's an emergency at home.

in scenario 2 she wants it so bad that 'there is an emergency at home', meaning "get me into your saph cossie asap, get your toe down, the boost up and the tail out, cos thats what i like. then get me home"

possibly

good place to look into would be the fast ford magazines, and performance ford, lots of info about the cosworth engines in there.

Saying that, the new duratec engines, the fiesta st150 has the ability to be turbocharged and has been known to be doing 350-400hp and hitting speeds of 178mph!!

I can say that when i Red lined a Saphhire cozzy in 4th & slung it in 5th when i looked at the clock i was doing 152mph :D
It was an x demo F reg in White with Black leather, Pulled well up to the 5th gear change & then it was just cruising at 150 plus:cool:
I think i was going past the Colchester turn off heading south bound on the A12, 5 up after just getting out of a Club around 4am :p
Those where the days
God knows what they can achieve though but i have to say my mates chipped Cozzy although Awesome was a lot less drivable than a standard one as you had to be careful. When i street raced the standard cozzy it ripped but Dannys was a lairy git that was all over the place trying to put the power down.
One thing the Cozzy has over the Scoobs though is top end reliability, I'd never hold a Scoob at top end for long but with a Cozzy it's just foot to the floor No worrys.

*Disclaimer*
I dreamt this whole story which is a complete fabrication & pulled from a young boys imagination, Please don't arrest me & take me from my mummy :D

Completely inferior to a Kadett C/Chevette ;)

*n

And they are completely inferior to mk1/2 cortina fastbacks! ;) [or anglias] Damn im talking with my rally head again! Cossies are cool, used to have a saph myself, but i always liked the 1600E fastback mk2's mmm mmm!

A Cosworth is, at the end of the day, a Ford Sierra. Most people therefore would not consider one as a daily driver over newer cars for the same reason as, in 2023, people wouldn't consider a 2006 ST220. That was my point, as someone above asked why more people dont want to own a Cosworth.

Well its not though is it.

Turbo + 4X4 and simply the name of Cosworth means you cant really compare them for Joe Public but I do see your point.

Same as an Evo would be a Mitisbushi Carisma :P

I have a similar effect with my 'Honda'
