Only problem i had was my wireless but thats was down to other things not my install.


Used Nlite to edit things out of windows then loaded it up instal a my drivers and bingo running great now.

Well worth doing it mate i'm sure glad i did.


After i was testing stuff with drivers i even re-formetted again yesterday just to get everything correct with drivers :).

Just ask if you have any questions or problems when you do it.

Just having trouble with nlite/xp media at the mo :( It is telling me some of the files are corrupt, the only other disc I have got is so old it hasnt got SP2 on it and I cant be bothered to download and slipstream that!

Still mine arrived Friday. First impressions are good, reinstalled vista and forceware 169.09 and overclocked the gfx to 650/800 which brings in a 3dmark06 score of 5200 in vista! I heard they will clock higher but this is more than enough for me.

Dont like the touch sensitive buttons, they are really difficult to press.

I ordered the 1440x900 screen and got the AUO2077 not the LG, the screen looks fine though so wont be returning it (think my eyes must be used to crap laptop screens ;) )

How much did you pay for yours.... I have the exact same spec with the 1440x900 AUO2077 screen, but I also have an engineer coming out tomorrow to swap it out hopefully for an LG ;)

Farooq - How did you get an engineer out to swap the screen ? Also, how did you push Dell for an LG - I have got someone coming out wed, but want to make sure its an LG, not a Samsuck . . . .

what res did you run 3d mark at to get that score. was it the default it would set with the 1440 screen of 1280x854?
 
guys. have realised that only my left headphone socket works. i get hissing from the one on the right, but no other sound. has anyone got any suggestions as to what i could try?
 
hk3948 - yes sorry that was the 1280x854 as I didnt have an external monitor to hand. If I get a few mins I will re run it at 1280x1024 to see a difference.

I am also finding my rivatuner settings are not sticking! When you go into the overclock tab it shows my chosen clock speed (650/800) in the windows startup tab but it is still at stock settings, I have to manually re-apply my overclocked settings.

Any ideas anyone? is this a vista issue?? I have never had any problem in xp

which nvidia drivers do you have installed? also, if you dont have monitor to hand, try running it at 1440x900. is rendering almost as many pixels as 1280x1024, should give you much more of a true representative, and let us know what score you get then with that oc
 
Guys the m1530 is my 2nd laptop choice, the main thing holding me back is the 8600gt...

Can someone do some benchies on it please with some modern games, would be very much appreciated and if its any good then I would be saving £800 on my other laptop choice! (Alienware m15x)

Just hooked up my M1530 to my Plasma (via HDMI)to play something at 720P looks excellent and the sound is fine to. Though the sound is coming out of my laptop to at the same time.
As soon as i mute the sound it's mutes the sound on the tv same with turning it down.

I'm running Win XP

It seems i'm not doing anything any ideas please on how to solve this?

Not sure why only one of your jacks works, however I get the same hissing/buzzing noise.

However this ONLY happens when the mains adaptor is in. Could you other guys with the 1530/1330 quickly try and plug in some headphones or amplifier into the headphone jack with the AC lead in and see if you get the same buzzing? there are a few other reports about this online but no one seems to be able to cure it bar using an external soundcard.

hk3948 - running 169.09 on vista 32bit. overclocked using Rivatuner

I cant run it at 1440x900 as you cant change res with the free version. I am planning on hooking it up to my work monitor when I get 5 mins and will report back ;)
 
from what iv'e read, 169.04's are the most recent rivatuner approved drivers. they're the ones im using. have tested 169.09's out aswell, actually get slightly better performance with the 04's over the 09's, and rivatuner works flawlessly. think maybe you should give those a go. should sort out your problems
 
I have found out my rivatuner is getting blocked at startup by UAC, I tried disabling UAC, reinstalling rivatuner with driver enforcement enabled, turned off windows defender.
I am running out of things to try and getting sick of vista already!

I am so tempted to whack xp on there and be done with it.

no uk. If you look at the business section they offer 1440x900

SupCom FA @ 1440x900 medium settings benchmark 16214

COD4 was extremely playable at 1440x900 medium, will install fraps tonight and give you some fps

will also benchmark at 1280x800 for you.

Ahhh nice one mate :D

So the 8600gt aint to much of a bad card then really is it.
