Best and worst transfers this season

Santa Cruz, Petrov and Torres without a doubt (even though I was expecting Torres to do even better in the EPL, but that could be "club issues" holding him back)

I dont need to add that Tevez and Anderson (and especially Anderson because of his age and inexperience) have really stepped upto the plate this season, without them we would be struggling

Worst

Smith, Diarra, Malouda, Ben-Heim

(mind you I could classify Alan Smith under best - from a Man Utd point of view:) )

Yakubu. :D

26 apps and 16 goals so far.

Phil Jagielka has been as solid as a rock at the back for us this season.

Santa Cruz because before he joined Blackburn he had something like 3 goals in 9 years for Bayern (possibly a slight exaggeration) is one of the best signings this season. Although others have come close:

.

hah, wheres the pre season thread - where i predicted this, only to be confronted by a number of statistics on how few goals he scored for Bayern?

but Torres is the shining light for me, in terms of inpact, ability, NOW and for the future!

and i dont like the scouse.

Frazier Campbell will probably be sold, Danny Wellbeck is ahead of him in the pecking order now.

Fabian Brandy is doing well as well, i still think theres room for Campbell though, its not like you can only have one striker step up

Nugent is the worst signing because he never gets a game even when fit. Must have been a few quid changing hands with that deal....

Not sure on the best transfer, maybe Kenwyne Jones because Roy Keane has somehow been able to get the best out of a player who was a complete and utter waste of space when I saw him play for Saints. Failing that, maybe Villa's loan of Scott Carson.

Torres ranks up there as one of the best clearly. Makes the signings of Kuyt and Voronin seem pants :]

the yak has gotta be up there

still scoring for fun whilst looking lazy

god knows what hed be like if he put some effort in

seem to remember all the everton fans on here not been happy at all when they signed him too....

I think Defoe has to be mentioned in both lists.
Great transfer for Pompey; dirt cheap price for a class striker.
Very bad transfer for Spurs as they sold him for cheap and replaced him with Bent.

Woe us. :(

Frazier Campbell will probably be sold, Danny Wellbeck is ahead of him in the pecking order now.

There was all this talk of Welbeck before City, but prior to that game he'd played a massive three games in the reserves. I've seen Campbell play a few times and he lacks a level of deadly finishing, but the boy can play.

Then again, if we sold Rossi, what chance do Welbeck or Campbell stand?

Don't think you can count Tevez, Torres etc as the best because for the price paid they should be playing as well as they are! The best buys are ones like Jagielka and Defoe.

Worst ones are the big fees that do nothing. Bent, easy.

Best Signings:
Anderson - Starred in our midfield this season, twice he's overshadowed Fabregas, he's overshadowed Gerrard and he's created a lot of goals for us. He has lightning quick feet and as much determination I've seen in a player since a Roy Keane in the 90's. The lad has future World Class written all over him.
Torres - Was always a massive fan of him in Spain, but I didn't think he'd do the job in England as his finishing was always pretty terrible. He was capable of the immense and the calamitous in equal amounts, but amazingly he's adapted and become consistent, though I'd like to see him stop trying to get people booked.
Elano - Runs the show for City when fully fit, looks the real deal, though he's still a bit too lightweight. Not sure he'd start in any of the big 4 teams, but he's perfect for City and has moved them up another level.
Tevez - Helps Rooney no end, fits perfectly in the team, works hard and can pick the perfect pass. He's a fantastic player and has the best mentality of any player I've ever seen, he gets belted time and time again and doesn't react. Rooney should take note.
Lucas - A surprise one for most, but everytime I've seen the lad he's impressed me no end, he's got a lot of talent, and though I don't think he's as good as Anderson (yet), he's got a LOT of potential and could be a phenomenal player given the right nurturing, I just hope Benitez doesn't limit that.

Notable mentions:
Petrov, Sagna, Gordon, Jagielka, Muntari.

Worst Signings:
Nugent - He's rubbish.
Bent - He's rubbish.
Gook-Lee - He's the worst Premiership player ever.
Malouda - He's overrated.
Bianchi - Slow, Poor movement and missed the easiest chance ever.
