Am i really old school or something as i dont recognise a lot of what put about these days. i know its been a while but my faves used to be fist of the north star, 3x3 eyes, Monster City (Demon City Shinjuku), AKIRA. ghost in the shell, and i even remember a title, and i know im gonna get this wrong but im sure it was called something like hiroshi-doshi-doshy?? i know that is proberbly unforgivable but i hounestly cant for the life of me recall the proper name.

Have i just been out the loop far to long and need to star catching up?

What would people recommend I watch if I like Bleach? Looking for something new to watch as Bleach is getting a bit tiresome....

Samuria Champloo is quite good. Just started watching it.

Anyone seen Death Note? Apparently it's quite good, according to my cousin.

My favourite anime. Just so good.

Only the first 3 volumes have been released in the US. So I guess you would have to import the Japanese DVDs, maybe they do a boxset. I don't know some anime guru will come along and set me right.

It just that I am sure I saw a boxset last week in Hong Kong (next to some dragon Ball z DVDs), but never heard of it before so I didn't get it but it was then my cousin pointed out that it's quite good. The box looks totally different to all the ones I've seen on the net since.

Because it's probably a bootleg copy.

Well all the volumes are available in Japan so maybe you did see a box set. Sorry I just assumed you live/were taking about the UK. Also I have no idea about any differences between Japan and Hong Kong when it comes to anime.

They get dubbed and re-released usually or subtited.

What's the release times like between the two?

I don't understand why the US don't release them as soon as Japan does. Is there not enough money to be made?

I want to buy the whole sessions of Naruto but I think the UK has only got 2 volumes or something stupid like that.

It tends to take time to get the licensing sorted out, then the translation for the subs, and any english dub (without which most anime wouldn't sell as well).

I think the US are trying to get closer to the Japanese release dates, but unless they licence the title before it starts being shown in Japan (so they can be working on it's US release as it's being shown) there will always be a gap in the release schedule.

The UK situation is similar, but with the additional delays of it having to be licensed for here, waiting for the US english language materials, and the BBFC.

What really irritates me is the delays for some series, where i've just gone and bought half the R1's before they announce the UK release :) (it's happened with Haruhi, AMG, Moonphase, Witch Hunter to name a few).

Talking of delays, ADV UK have announced the new dates for a number of titles that were delayed when they changed from running their own distribution, to closing their uk offices and outsourcing it*.

AMG is either a typo or a welcome reduction in the price of some of their new releases (I think both MVM and Revolution have dropped the rrp of some of their new titles).

*It's a shame they closed the UK office as some of the staff there were really friendly/helpful and into anime from what i've seen/heard.

I understand that there will be delays. I'm probably just bitter about Naruto lol

I'm not surprised, there is so little available in the UK for Naruto fans, I believe there was over 200 episodes before Naruto Shippuuden which is the current series. From what a few mates have told me though the last 50 odd episodes are mainly fillers which they said were rubbish, however they are now raving about Shippuuden.

On another note just finished watching Tokko which I really liked, demons, swords, blood and hot females. What more can you ask for. :D
