The magistrates have spoken...

Of course I know the background to it. But come on, wishing that he lost his driving licence is a bit too far isn't it?

If you happened to be in the same situation I doubt you'd be too pleased to see people posting stuff like that!

Man, you're unbelievable.

Far too lenient. You've been very lucky.

What's more worrying is that some people in this thread almost seem to support you.

Not quite sure where you're actually going with this.

I've been driving long enough to comfortably say I never have made such a 'mistake' or been as 'silly' and can comfortably say I never will.

It requires an incredibly immature individual to do so and I wouldn't paint myself with that brush.

But hey maybe 60 in a 30 is normal for you, if thats the case I hope you're taken off the roads at some point also :)

Olly, I don't know if you realise the background here - he did well over 60mph in a residential zone with, IIRC (Correct me if I am wrong Sam) parked cars etc.

That he wasn't banned is a miracle, and also a shame, becuase now he's back to being an accident waiting to happen with his DSC fuelled idiocy. He needed a shock to calm him down :(

Yes, let's hope that shock isn't a proper one and no one else is involved

If he does it again, which it sounds like he will he'll get slaughtered

...and I have been found guilty!

I did travel in considerable excess of 60 in a 30 zone. I drove carelessly.

My punishment is 6 points and a £360 fine.

Do people think this is a suitable punishment or too lenient or too tough? I, personally, was expecting something more considerable in at least a short ban, and probably deserved it too.
I think the important things are:
  • Nobody was hurt
  • You understand the severity of your crime
  • You've learned your lesson
The fact people think it's cool you got away with it is a sign of the level of maturity in this forum and doesn't surprise me one bit. I hope you're now a safer driver and enjoy your panzerwagon where appropriate.

I could care less. Lives of others are at stake just so mr DSC can get his kicks speeding? No way. Would've revoked license based solely on the attitude of the OP as i've read quite a few of his posts. I'm a leadfoot at times but i pick and choose carefully where, not on a residental road. I've had a license almost a decade now and unofficially been driving since 14 or so and a spotless driving record. Mistakes i made i learned from, not try to 'avoid' being caught.

Even in the inappropriate situations we all know how much he'll relying on Captain DSC to save his Ass, let's all hope it doesn't go **** up for him real soon ;)

Man, you're unbelievable.

Agreed. Olly you need to think long and hard mate.

Do excuse my immaturity.

Better hope he loses his driving licence for that
Great to see a sense of perspective in these matters. You'd make a great magistrate.
