Solution to people parking in your parking bay...

Was that for a 2 bedroom appartment? Views? Nice finish? Got any links to possible estate agents etc etc?

Two bedrooms, huge terrace outside, great views both ways along the river, nice finish, fitted kitchen (sans fridge/freezer).

Check Urban Base Lettings, Sarah Mains et cetera for places...My old one may still be free; It's up at £595 now I think.

A quick call to the local beat bobby later saying there was an abandoned car in the car park and a tow truck solved the problem.
Played mate

Here we have a few signs up saying residents parking only, £100 fine etc but it doesn't seem to stop that many people. What works best is the folding post in the entrance that locks up with a padlock. People drive over it and realise they could get locked in and normally turn around.

I wouldn't hesitate to tow/shunt anyone parking in my (numbered) parking space. Nobody parks in my Discovery's space! :D

Yep thats just it. All the spaces are numbered and have been around for years!! So annoying! Would love to put up a folding down post thing but cant dig up the road as its not officially our land despite owning the flat. My advice - Never buy a flat as you dont own anything in reality!

I live in a very quiet street where nothing happens but this morning heard a commotion.
Everybody has got drives and of course the area on the street in front of the house is NOT designated to the house.
However because a lorry was delivering paving stones to a house it meant that the next door neighbour couldn't park properly but still decided to put his car in its normal place therefore blocking the street off.
A white van couldn't get past so decided to use his horn and the lorry driver pointed at the house and obviously told him what the car owner had done.
Much arguing ensued and then the coppers turned up.
The home/car owner refused to move his car saying it was his home and he had every right to park in front of it even if it meant blocking the street off.
The coppers then pointed to dozens more potential parking spots including outside my house but the bloke was having none.
They threw him in the cop car and a lorry came and took his car away.
I bet he feels a right prat now especially when it only took 10 minutes to empty the lorry.

A friend of mine is a self employed labourer with the obligatory knackered white van. a bloke in the flats he was living in was always parking in his spot so he lost his rag one evening and pushed the blokes car using the transit into the flower beds on the other side of the spaces. Got a bit of a telling off from the fuzz, but the bloke never parked in his spot again.

Removable bollard

when you leave, padlock it up

RAMLO_normal.jpg

when you come back, unpadlock it and drop it down and drive over it.

Unless your driving a ferrari you should be able to drive over it no problem.

Scratch the car to **** when no 1 is around, wait for the driver and shout and swear like crazy and make them feel small so they are soo shocked they never comeback for more!

Its not his land, for the umpteenth time. Why do people not read threads they're replying to?

Because they think they are so smart that no one could have possibly have thought of the same solution before.

;):p

id approach the land lord about it

has anybody posted that they've asked if they can do this sort of thing and been told no ?

providing its done properly, i see no reason why any landlord would object. Especially if its only a padlock that a set of bolt cutters would chop through

its not going to deter hardened criminals, but it will deter lazy neighbours.

Aye, he could ask the landlord about it. I wouldn't expect to be turned down either, provided I owned the flat and was footing the entire bill for fitting.

Doesnt matter? If people arent giving a crap about parking in peoples bays, they probably wont question a post.
My place has private allocated parking. Previous tenant put a post in my parking space. It's awesome, and I'm 99% sure there was no planning permission etc.

Oh btw on the "I live here and its lush and there are no chavs" - bit of a contradiction as 'lush' is the language of chavs. Guess other people say 'I live here, its nice - only one chav' ;)
