Ok I recently ordered an hitachi 250gb sata drive from ocuk. The one I picked was the T7K500 and they have sent me an P7K500...

Should I bother getting it changed? I cant find that much about it except for the fact it uses the same powering saving stuff as hitachi's laptop drives.

Stick with the P7K500. It has, as you mention, all the power saving gizmos but it's also based on a 250Gb platter rather than the 160Gb platter of the T7K500 so it should be a fair bit quicker.

As far as we are aware they should be T7K500. I will get our stock checked on Monday.

The P7K500 is a better drive due to its additional power management. Unlike the WD GP drives, the P7K500 is a full 7200RPM drive rather than 5400RPM so definitely a better drive and you've got yourself a bit of a bargain as these normally cost a little more.

If you do want to send it back though then give the tech lads a shout and if you have any problems then tell them to speak to me.

:D Thanx m8. For an easy life I will probably just keep it. I cant be bothered sending it back and then having to wait for another to arrive, I havent fitted it yet but I will do soon.
