Racism on Xbox Live

How come there is so many smacktards on CS: S then? Most players I knew had built their own PCs etc, CS and CSS has never been beaten in terms of racism/abuse/general idiocy for me. CoD4 isn't too bad, most of the trolls on there are so derivative/stupid that it is difficult to be offended!!! Mute works wonders.

Don't ask me, I don't play CS. Mabey because its a lot more competitive?

Why let someone who you don't know bother you in the least? In this day and age its part of online gaming and has been since Live first started. If someone is being racist oir whatever, just mute them. End of story and problem solved. Whallah! Doesn't matter what platform of media, stuff like this always going be present.

Never had any rascism i can remember on the Dreamcast and Phantasy Star Online, mind you the Dreamcast was a gentlemans console.

Solution: Mute everyone other than those on your friends list. Much more pleasureable experience.

Yeah just mute if someone is annoying you. Can be a bit weird sometimes only hearing half a conversation though.

There is too many little kids on Live for my liking, I think you should be able to select which age range you play with.

yeah me too, I just end up laughing at them. Had some brilliant slagging matches with my mates on Halo. One game with my team of all Brits and the opposing team of all Aussies. We spent the whole match slagging each other off and then about 20 minutes in the post match taking the **** out of each other, great fun :D

I'm all for good banter, some of the stuff is beyond the pale though. America really does have a problem from what I've seen on XBL.

A game of Halo at my mates last week was a bit of a mare to be honest. I heard the N word shed loads of times. You hardly hear someone from this country or mainland Europe saying stuff like that. Another sad thing was they all sounded really young.

I love gaming racism, its usually hilarious random trolling.

and it is always committed by kids or people with very limited mental capacity.

its never funny - its just pathetic

i have to say - i have NEVER heard a crossed word when PC gaming online - and it is a lot rarer on the playstation
but xbox i do feel that it crops up so frequently due to the ease of use in communicating with others

the only way i have found to combat it is to get yourself a nice reliable team of squadmates for your game of choice [in my R6V squad two guys are brit-asian, three of us white-brit/americans, one female and one is a black american] so we are a pretty diverse spread!

if people start yakking off then they are against a room full of mixed race mature people. we let the gaming do the talking

i always find a heavy dose of teabaggery to the main offender does the job and then they show their age!!!

How would you implement that exactly? You can't make people enter their age, and if you could whats to stop them lying?

credit card

and the ability to smack children for bad language again
if i was bad when i was a kid i had a good hiding - it never did me any harm - if anything it taught me a greater respect for people and good manners

if i did get in trouble with my old man, it was usually for a lot less than these foul little sods come out with on xbox live!

bring back the cane! - physical dicipline in schools FOR THE WIN!
that should clean up xbox live

little ******** would show some respect if they had the threat of being beaten within an inch of their life!

otherwise you could make a headset for under 21's
one that reconises abuse and sends a large current directly into the brain...
just a thought microsoft [hint hint]

You generally find it worse in FPS games (well I have anyways) on all formats. It's kind of funny when you **** someone off that much they have to blow off on one on the mic. Just makes you want to woop there ass some more while you laugh out loud :D

He really does... :p

The only abuse/racism I've encountered on Live has been from Americans.

I will never forget that Cletus that thought we were french. He was no challenge to outwit. :D

Or the numpty that was convinced English was invented by America and we stole it.
