How do I disable call forwarding on a T-Mobile phone? I want it so call waiting kicks in instead. I'm pretty sure call waiting is on, but the forwarding kicks in instead.

Cheers

EDIT: I want it to still go to voicemail if I don't answer, just want call waiting while I'm on another call.

What phone?

In your call divert menu, cancel all diverts. Then turn on the following voicemail diverts:
- Divert if busy
- Divert if not answered (usually number of seconds is configurable)
- Divert if unreachable

Enable call waiting

EDIT - you have an iPhone don't you? If so they don't have the menu options. I'll dig out the GSM codes that you can use instead. Hold on...

Aye, iPhone :) Cheers

Your 'destination' number is your voicemail number, which on T-Mob is personalized. (On other networks eg Orange, there is one number for everyone).

Try punching in *#61# [SEND] to see if it is already there

Excellent, cheers. I'll have a play.

OK, I've disabled 'when busy' and I still get the 'active diverts' message when making a call. I expected that to go away.

Yes, that warning is strange. Even when everything works, including call waiting it still pops up. It must show if you have any call diverts on.

There is a fix though, I'll dig out the link when I get home

It just seems to be a T-Mobile thing, to give you the "Active Diverts" when you make an incoming call. I've had this ever since switching to T-Mobile and it's never affected call waiting.

The only fix I know is to disable voicemail altogther which you don't want to do really.

No, there is a fix where you can still have voicemail and call waiting on.

I did this on 1.1.3, but haven't yet got round to doing it on 1.1.4.

Go to at /var/mobile/Library/Preferences/com.apple.carrier.plist

Edit the key ShowCallForwarding to be <false/>.
