Basically my girlfriend and i were planning on going away over easter as we have the friday and monday off work. We were planning on going somewhere a bit romantic but her mate has asked if we want to go to amsterdam.

Whats it like for a holiday destination, im not into my sleezy places so if its like that id rather not go. Its just my girlfriends mate is such a party animal and only after one thing if you know what i mean.

Just want to know what you guys think of the place.

Holland is a great great country, just be carefull in Amsterdam :D
 
Yeah, Amshterdahm is a great city, but not really reknowned for being a romantic kinda place. If she's going for the coffee shops and you're not into that then it'll do your head in.

It is a great place, though... have been there plenty of times and always had a great time.
 
it is very romantic loads to do there as well.

The RLD is very small compared with the city itself which is vibrant and cool.

Definitely a place to visit. Go see Anne Frank's place it's a must see as well.

Shes female i think she is going with other people so it would be more of a group thing.

Neither of us do drugs or smoking of any kind, and i really really hate sleezy night out and dodgy looking woman on street corners.

But saying that i havnt been and i am very open to any thing i just dont want to spend my hard earned on a long weekend away that really wouldnt appeal to me.

If you and your GF want to go away for some romance I would not go with her m8, especially as in the Dam it’s easy to party.

Amsterdam is a great place.
I went with 14 blokes for my stag and do and, as much as I can remember, had a cracking time,.
I also then went with my wife and we both had a great and romantic time.

Beware the dark side of the dam! 3 is a crowd unless your GF’s m8 she likes being romantic with both you. . . . . . . .

Ditch the m8 go together, book it now.

I don't think ill ever get bored of Amsterdam, I have been with the Mrs 6 times
and was there last week with a group of lads. Two totally different experiences
both excellent.

Take the missus im sure you will both enjoy it.
