*** The Official G92 8800GTS 512 Overclocking Thread ***

i can post picture demonstrating HDR in crysis (better than very high) but as far as i can tell all the AA and AF have been removed in the screenshot for some reason  anyways here you go:

ScreenShot0002.jpg

ScreenShot0018.jpg

ScreenShot0000.jpg

all taken on 'relic' and i think forcing HDR does a MUCH better job than very high settings at showing dust as best possible

Edit: its also worth noting those screenshots are at 1024*768

Can't seem to get more than 761/1902/1052 out of mine...

Is it wise to overclock the shaders separately to the core itself? Is their any advantage in doing so, or is it best to just keep them locked?

Try dropping you memory to stock (around 1000) and you could be able to overclock the core & shaders a bit more if you want or vice-versa.
I don't know if theres any benefit of overclocking the core & shader seperatly

I'm only overclocking mine in Crysis now.

mmm ... interesting ....

my MSI is stock at 730 MHz core .... couldn't get any more than 760 without artefacts in ATI-tool

had to move my GFX card to install 2x HDD the other day and reinstall windows ....

now 820 is fine with ATI-tool ... max temp about 65C (is that a safe temp ?)

got to test Crysis etc to see if stable now

the only other thing doing different is I'm now doing the clocks in Rivatuner vs Nvidias own tool ? does that make a difference ?

wonder if I can get higher than 820 ?

Mark.

Bit strange, but how can you have better than very high settings? Not that they included extra effects and hid them away! I think Gashman mentioned on Very High some things aren't enabled, but what are they, and why would they have disabled them?

Also, how do you "force" HDR on?

EVGA - 800/2000

Strange thing is I get better 3dmark at 750/2000 ?

12336 3dmarks at 750/2000

12202 3dmarks at 800/2000

Oh and why does the ORB report my cpu as an E4400 ?

whats better - higher core speeds or higher shader clocks ?

my MSI is stock at 730/1825 (core/shader)

at those shader clocks I can get to 760 stable core

but if I reduce shader to say 1750 I can get to 830 core

any ideas please ?

Have been playing at these clocks for a while now, seems 100% game/bench stable.

Running 850/2205/2308, not yet volt modded.

My cards a Zotac GTS, watercooled under its own independent loop.

Will it run at those clocks with the stock cooler you think? As the GTS's come down in price its really tempting to grab one especially when they are reaching such high clocks especially on the shaders.

If I keep the GFX under 25C this is the clock it will run 3dmark06 stable (required an open window) :D

870/2305/2308, memory will simply not clock any higher regardless of temps.

Cracked 18k also! once the futuremark orb is back online I will submit my 06 score. I had to open the xml result script to read my score (see explorer window)

Hmm I've got Zotac 8800GTS not Amp! edition, reference one and installed Accelero S1 on it as load temps were really high (you know, playing CoD4 MP for 5+hours hehe), usually more than 88C. With Accelero on it, load temps don't go higher than 49C and ambient 39C.
So I tried to overclock it, some strange error while loading driver for AtiTool under vista 64 but artifact scanning was fine, running for 4 hours without any problem. To be honest I don't know how far I can go. I tried 804/1080 and no problem, temperature under load 51C. I will try this weekend something like 830/1100 to see. The only thing why I'm doing this is Crysis @1920x1200, on stock i was getting average 25fps (High Settings) and with OC 35fps (same settings), DX10 very high stock 18fps, OC 28fps - still not fps to my taste. I want to give it a try as I spent money on Crysis but find it quite boring and unplayable comparing to CoD4. Will post results once I overclock it.
Oh btw, my system:

C2D [email protected], Zotac 8800GTS/512/Accelero S1 @804/1080, Hitachi SATA2 250GB, Gigabyte 965P-DS4, 4x1GB GEiL low latency, Antec P182, Scythe Ninja Rev. B + Nexus 120, intake and exhaust Nexus 120, top and lower chamber Xilence 120, Tagan U480 PSU, optical drives and other stuff and the best gaming screen ever Dell 2707WFP.

whats the most stable up to date drivers out there for the gts512s ??? just tryed the forceware ones (174.31) and am getting kick outs and freezing playing cod4 :(
