Hehe my current 1520GHZ processor sometimes does passwords faster than typing them. Only got about 100gq or memory though :(

Also, any ideas how to get more bandwidth? I can't get the top internet connection because apparently me gateway doesn't have the bandwidth.
 
When ever I play, I always seem to get Passive Traced later on.. and every mission I did I delete the logs of the machine I was connected to.. is it best to bounce the connection through a load of different machine and then the last one as a government or uplink machine and just erase the logs?
 
I got pretty far where I was using a hacking program called Revolution or something to corrupt the other company - but somehow I failed :p I cant remember now :p

Your first bounce should always be the InterNIC server. Then look at the above posts and add banks, servers etc.

Connect to the mission computer, do the mission and disconnect.

Then connect directly to the InterNIC computer and login as an admin.

The logs should show several IP addresses being forwarded, delete those as they prove that your IP address was bouncing off this computer. Then you should see a log that says your IP address connected to the internic computer, then an admin login log.

Delete the admin login record but leave the connected one. When you disconnect from the server it also leaves a log which will look really odd if there is a disconnect log but no connect log.
 
What's this game like if you've never played it before? I can grasp most of the things you're talking about, just wondering if its worth it if I'm just going to get overwhelmed.
 
I'd say well worth it, it can take a bit to get into it, but you soon realise there is a very easy way of doing things, it's basically where your first bounce is, once you've got used to doing that, and sorting the log, you will have no trouble, that is until you get though to the actual story line, then things can start getting difficult lol.
 
gutted, I deceided to play this last night after posting about it.

Can't find me CD but found that it was already installed. Tried to create a new account only to remember that without the protection key card thingy I can't make a new one :(
 
Had this for donkeys but never got round to playing it "properly" until recently. Once I understood how it all works my life just disappeared.

In the end I hacked a bank account, stole millions of credits, bought all the top gear then decided I'd go do the "story" missions, but I'd deleted the original email and accidentally removed the server from my server list! D'Oh!

Instead, figured I'd have a go at hacking a LAN. Within about 30 seconds the admin had me and GAME OVER.

Might go back to it soon and try the story missions.
 
Bah, been playing another game today, I used the NIC computer every time and deleted the logs, I did a criminal record deletion, managed to get past all th encryptions and do the password crack, they still managed to trace me.. do I need to Re Connect and delete their logs too? or is the NIC ones sufficiant to stop me from being caught?
 
You always bounce through InterNIC first, then through some easy to hack servers later on.

You do 3-5 missions in quick succession, wipe logs afterwards (twice) rinse/repeat and you will be fine.

When you get a decent Eliptic Curve Decrypter you go for a bank and your laughing. You gotta be fast mind.
 
Just got it, done tutorial, seems pretty immense, I remember when it was released, wasn't it just a few guys burning cd's 24/7 and selling them?
 
Just downloaded it! Played it before but completly forgot about it! I love it, however, i deleted my bookmarked links, doh so now they don't even appear on the map and thus i cant complete eh missions :( any way to fix this, or do i just have to do more missions using the same servers?

edit-lol dont worry, i just got banned for getting caught hacking a server :rolleyes:

is a shame that if you get caught you can get completely erased and have to start again =( would be better if it maybe reverted to the list time you signed in or something. Just managed to do all the easy missions then failed trying to hack into the criminal database on my 1st go and now I have to do everything over!
 
It is very easy to back up your save file.

its just a case of copying it to a seperate folder every so often and then, if you do get caught you just copy it back. To be safe use 3 different copies from different times.
