Would you eat heart?

I've had it before - I wouldn't choose it but I'd eat it.

I quite like liver and kidneys too. I think I've had braised lamb or sheep's brains before. I would probably try a testicle but I don't know if I'd enjoy it. I'm a firm believe it at least giving it a go.

I enjoy liver and kidneys, I would try things but unless I enjoyed them I wouldn't say I'd eat them.

Did you ever get to try the Frogs before they almost got eaten to extinction?:p

For some reason I don't really enjoy eating off the bone either. I prefer something I can just eat all of. Chicken legs or wings are too much hassle, I'd rather just eat the whole damn thing. Same with ribs. They're tasty, but when I'm hungry I don't want to leave a thing on my plate.
My friend is like this, he won't eat anything with a bone in it. It's like he's squeamish around it or something.

Kidneys for breakfast in a garlic + chilli butter, on freshly toasted wholegrain bread and a big dollop of cream cheese...

Hells. Yes.

Braised lamb brain is rather nice; only had it twice, once was overcooked though :(

I'll eat anything on the burcher's slab tbh.

Any cut of meat and any organ proffered for consumption. Bulls testes sliced wafer thin and flash-fried with lemon and pepper = win.

Anus? That's skin, not meat.

Sphincter is muscle, so surely it's meat isn't it?!

Oh, and I wouldn't object to eating heart. Just another muscle after all. I'm not a fan of kidneys though. They're a bit too chalky.

.....

aparently its banned in the US as it doesnt meet basic food standards lol

It is banned in the US since 1989, not because of food standards but the first BSE scare.

When I go to my Aunties in Scotland she gets the haggis from a local butcher, yummmmm!

The first time I had liver was at school, horrible tough and overcooked, put me off it for ages.
Now I'm eating it again since the gf cooks it properly.

We've been talking about having stuffed lambs hearts recently, think I'll be buying some at the weekend.

But heart is pure meat it's a muscle after all.

Quite true, but there's just something about organs that puts me off. I guess I just think about it too much rather than just eating it and making my mind up on the taste.

I used to eat steak and kidney pies about 10 years back but the more and more I thought about it I switched to steak and onion :p

Apart from being totally sick, I though eating brain was actually dangerous?

Since modern factory farming methods became the norm, people have been more than happy to tuck into poor quality meat packed with chemicals and bloated with water, yet show them a heart and they gag. Quite funny really.

Years ago, offal like liver, kidneys, heart and tongue were regulars on the dinner plate. I even remember my nan making home made brawne (sp?) from a pigs head. I'll eat them all, but I think I'd draw the line at dangly bits.

I totally agree and the irony is things like heart aren't tampered with, like chicken breast is, for example.

I like heart, liver and tongue are only good in pate/ox tongue spam like substances, and I don't like kidney because it tastes like urine (to me).

Never tried brains, eyes, testicles, anus or tripe. Would try but probably not consume too often.
