BMW ipod for £550! anything better?

Get the dension gateway 500 which works with cars fitted with I drive. You can keep you cd changer its selectable so works instead of it when you select it. It has a USB port(so you can use pen drives with music on too) as well as the ipod connection. There are loads of videos on how well it works on youtube. The BMW ipod connection is rubbish in comparission and you will loose the cd changer. The dension is only £270 as well. Im saving up for one for my car. It wont need BMW to program the car either, it just plugs in between the cd changer and car wiring loom.

do you know if everythings controled by the idrive? Ie. menu options on idrive

Radio 4 is great when you've run out of music and it's outside the hours of 06:30 to 14:00 or 16:00 to 19:00 on a weekday, or its a weekend, and thus, Radio 1 and Radio 2 are filled with bilge.

only problem with radio 4 is the idiots you get on now and again, at work i can switch to radio 5 news as i have dab. In the car i am stuck :(

I have a Dension Gateway 100 (and so did PeterNem) and it's one of the worst bits of kit I've bought for my car. Complete junk.
 
just another thought, does anyone know if the BMW Business Navigation uses a dvd? This is an 05 model. I could fill a dvd with mp3's and thats going to be not far of what i can get on my ipod. i know i should have found out before i brought the car just never thought to ask. Just being impatient now, i get the motor soon anyway:):):):)

It does use a dvd but it wont play mp3 files the cd player above it will play them though.
