Beer and wine to go up :(

Dear god man, stop drinking if you can't afford an extra FOUR pence!

But where does it stop though? It may only be 4p this time but 10years from now it will be even more stupidly taxed.

Its just the same with fuel, yeah ok it may only be another couple of pence here and there but just 4 years ago I was buying a litre at 84p, now its costs 105p where I live.

Christ, its £2.70+ for a pint in town, 5% lager, If the pub doesn't put the price up the brewery does now the government, wont be long before its £3 a pint round here, I mean it will cost £25 just to go to the pub and have 8 pints and I can normally drink 10 plus a kebab and a taxi its going to cost just £35 to go for a beer, its about £50 if I just go out clubbing.

And they wonder why people are staying in when you can get 24 cans for £10 and get your mates round and have BBQ or blast on the 360.

No, it would cost £35 to go out for 10 beers, a kebab and a taxi. To go out for a beer costs £3.

Seriously, people drinking too much is exactly what the legislation is supposed to stop, what were you expecting?

Going out for a beer on a friday was the back bone of the British working class, it was the done thing, now its a monthly thing rather than weekly.

And its never been about binge drinking, meeting up with your mates for a few jars and catch up on gossip or talk about the football etc.

its not the fact that thier increasing it by pence, its the fact that thier raking in hundreds of thousands of pounds just because the UK's an alcohol gravy train.

They don't care about alcoholism as long as they get a nice big payoff in the form of a tax hike!
